Have an issue with Normal maps that is only noticeable on a winter landscape (desert/temperate, its un noticeable).
The faces (of white people) appear really really white (I assume there is an extra reflective affect on winter maps).
But the models I havent eddited the textures on or made my normal maps for the effect on their face is limited so it looks more natural, while still looking good on the armor (and the faces arent using a separate texture file so that rules out using different NM settings on the faces than the armor).
Anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong with the normal maps that would do this? I pretty much leave the settings at default, I think with the nvidia normal map plugin in photoshop. Gimme a sec and I will post a SS.
below compare the guy on the right with the guy on the left, (Ive noticed its not just Winter maps, but specifically winter, when its cloudy/snowy)
the soldier on the right has a more natural skin tone, while the other guy looks like he hasnt been exposed to the sun in 20 years.
