    Default Medieval Total Realism

This is an idea for a mod that I have had. Basically it involves:

    • Making the whole game more realistic, with the units available evolving throughout the game to reflect the actual medieval period. Faction strengths and weaknesses will be more pronounced and true to life and will have much more of an effect on how you play the game. i.e the english longbowmen will be very powerful, but the english army will be small and nearly always outnumbered.
    • Reskins of existing units
    • Many new units
    • Making a much larger map spanning europe, north africa (but with much more detail and settlements) and extending east into asia.
    • If it can be done, units with a mix of weapons throughout the unit
    • More events that will have a much larger impact on gameplay
    • faction/region specific units, for example to begin with only regions in england will be able to recruit longbowmen but these will become available in captured regions after about 50 years.
    • Much improved battle and campaign AI
    • Possibly provincal campaign such as the 100 years war

I am starting to work on this already but for a large mod like this I need a team. At the minute I especially need:

A 3d modeller to help me with unit altering/creation
A mapper to help me with the map
    A scripter

2d artists and coders would also be welcome

PM me or post here if you are interested

    Thanks

I guess this will clash with harcored features of M2TW; unit limit, region limit and faction limit. Additionally Stainless Steel mod and its submods pretty well cover all of those changes.

Though I think Dominion of the Sword may rise higher than Stainless Steel within a year or something... they aim to make it a supermod.

Anyways, I wish you best luck!

Medieval II Total Realism was the mod that was the cause to join this site.
It was the 1st attempt for a 100% conversion of M2TW game.
It had a glorius but painfull death...
People in the site can not be united to create such a mod.
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

Honestly dude, there are way too many wips and ideas, too many mods going around, you probably won't find anyone. 3D modelers are rare, and the good ones can be counted by finger. And with so many mods and stuff around it's no wonder they have their hands full.

Besides, as Da Goofy said, Stainless Steel pretty much covers what you were proposing. The only reason I don't play SS is because each turn takes forever for the AI. I click "end turn" and then I just drift away, each faction takes almost half a minute to pass, and in the end when I come back I almost don't remember I'm playing MTW2.

What COULD be done, is more geographically focused mods, of certain events. Even if with a little bit of fantasy. For example Great Britain in it's entirety, with every little settlement and mountain, and all those islands. It is possible, imagine a map of the biggest size possible, with the limit of settlements to the fullest. It would basically be possible to make each county a faction, each lord a faction of it's own with it's own roster, while the king would function as a pope. Wouldn't it be a nice change, a mod that hasn't been done before, to be just a simple count, and go and conquer an entire country?

And I'm not talking about Kingdoms like area, with just half a dozen more settlements than vanilla campaign. I'm talking about a huge complete map of the entire country.

Who says England says any other country.

Damn, MTW2 has so much potential, so many different mods and unique stuff that could be done, but those ideas are never explored.

Have to agree with the rest , this is already done or being done . You should join an existing mod team instead of creating a new one . Might i suggest Patria Libera? It has the same standards as yours

okay, how about a very large scale map of britain/france, with the campaign focussing on the hundred years was in a realistic fashion?
