    Default Is Empire good yet?

I really want to enjoy this game. I really, really do. I love the idea of the Imperial Era in a Total War game. But last time I played, it kept crashing and, unrelated to that, made me want to kill myself.

Specifically, I'm talking about: fences, Indians of doom, fences, """"balanced"""" naval battles, fences, AI with a bad case of Milan/Thrace syndrome, fences, star forts, fences, garrisoning buildings, fences, the player faction apparently being the Seleucid Empire, and fences.

Actually, if even half of those were fixed, I'll consider reinstalling it and binging for the rest of the night.

Well, the BAI is more capable now....

I have nothing to say about the fences though...

Well, it's up to the other half now.

BAI is a plus, though. I think the last update I got was the """"balanced"""" naval one before I ragequit.

    Nope, not yet.
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.

Not worth the time, the money, or the aggravation! Shouldnt have made the game in the first place. They halfed it at every turn. This is like you favorite artist coming out with a cd with 5 unimpressive songs. LETS, ALL OF US....MOVE ONE!

What is the problem with fences or do you mean walls?

I am also not sure what is wrong with the naval battles I actually never noticed any big deal with this?

i dont see a big issue with naval battles anymore and the battlemap ai (at least with DM) is ok. m2tw had it exploits as well in siege battles for instance.
the battles at sea and land are a matter of taste. i find them extremely slow and dull but if you are a fan of the period i think you should download and give it another shot.
there are many people that enjoy this kind of warfare game

I'm looking forwards to my copy arriving - it sounds like it'll challenge me to think in other ways - ways that I'm not used to with ancient/medieval era TW games - things like fields of fire, lines of sight and formations sound vital.

I find ETW just fine now and i just play vanilla. Its not perfect but no game is but its 100 times better then launch.

Tried a few mods but they all go too far with the changes imo where i just want a slightly more balanced and improved vanilla.

they are indeed essential! of course, watch your friendly fire since the AI doesn't know friend in front of foe and you can end up shooting half your own army to pieces.

I will say ETW was a breath of fresh air from the melee war of the last games.

I agree with this, Empire is totally stable on my computer, and the CAI brought some funny surprises in my GC

but there is a bunch of stuff that needs urgent updating

like siege battles, which are broken again

I say 'again' because in 1.5 siege battles were fine, in 1.6 the AI does absolutely nothing (and I mean nothing)

they'd better release another patch orelse

well, a new patch or a bigger GC map for N:TW so we can all move on

I liked it before, and now much more after, the 1.6 update. I've not had any problems with my system running the game. Any crashes have been due to some stupid update program I forgot about kicking off.

The 1.6 update fixed many things. And just to say quickly - Nothing will fix the siege situation so I don't worry about it any more! I thought they stunk in 1.5, they still do.

That aside, the game is a great play!
