Default LS armor, LS armor, LS armor

Who believes me when I say that some Roman soldiers till wore LS armor into the 4th and 5th centuries. And if you do, don't you think soldiers like that should be in these mods.

No one will believe if you just asserted it as the truth with nothing to back up your claims. I think that on this forum, they require people to do some research before they started talking about things they don't even understand.

no,no,no,no,no I have complete understanding about Rome. You know ray243 it is really the only history I care about besides greece. I would chosse it over greeks egypt persia medieval anything. I would od anything to fight alongside Trajan Augustus CAesar. I was interseted in Rome by the time I was 4 years old. So don't tell me i don't understand Roman history in the forth and fifth centuries. That totally sends me into a rage. I must have around 10-12 books on Rome. I probably have played every game that inlcudes something Roman and even if it is just a small part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But to every one I have to say I will stop posting threads for LS armor

You expect me to believe that a high school student has a better understanding of Roman history than the people who study it in university just because you read some books on Roman history?

Tell me which books of yours actually holds the view that the LS is still in use during the fifth century.

And stop having a meltdown just because I am accusing you. It just make you look immature.

I am just sensitive about what I absolutely love so I ain't immature. I didn't get to pick when I was born so that doesn't come into play here. Just because I am not as old as you doesn't mean I don't know more about Rome. And I am not even in high school.

Oh please. If you want to tell people that you are mature, then don't go around begging people to include the LS armour like some five year old kid then.

Also, can you tell us which historian is saying that the LS armour is still in use in the 5th century?

I understand your enthusiasm but if you insist on multiple posting of this I will have to report you to one of the moderators and consider your posts as SPAM. You have been repeatedly told that lorica segmentata had gone out of production by the end of the third century yet you still insist on flouting the idea. You are more than welcome to participate in discussions but their is a limit to my tolerance levels!!

I don't know where you have heard that but you need to give some sources to support your views. Hollywood movies are not enough, I'm afraid.

There is some slight evidence that border legiones may, just may, have been using armour of this type, but front line legiones would not have done so. Border legiones may have had stockpiles of older equipment and were probably less likely to have figured high on the provision of new armour and weapons allocations, therefore they would have had to rely on what they had to hand. I would think it not unreasonable to see some border infantry wearing the armour but it would have probably disappeared by the 5th century AD as wood carvings of 5th/6th Century border troops in Egypt show them in mail armour.

I personally see no reason for field army legiones to be depicted wearing anything other than muscle cuirasses or mail hauberks.

Look, Lorica segmentata may have been "re-used" by border troops as new armor was often not availible, but after maybye 50 years they would have lost the parts and it would have corroded because segmentata was extremely high maintinance, and it would have been cannibalized to make mail and scale armor.
Segmentata production was stopped in either 284 or 286 AD Im still looking for my scource on this.
