Default I never realized fighting Rebels could be fun...

[I've seen threads just telling about a battle, and I think this deserves it - I believe this is one of the biggest - if not even the biggest - battles ever fought on M2TW & modifications.]

I wish it was like this every time! I had 6,248 warriors against their 7,355 cowards!

These Rebel armies were under the lead of former Genoan officers, for I just had crushed their faction by conquering Cagliari which was their last settlement.

Note that there are 14 pics, it may take a while to load them.

This very epic battle was fought in SS 6.1 H/H + Lusted's Battle AI + MapMod 1.7 + Crimson Tide 4.2 and several other mods, don't remember. Though they probably won't affect combat.
The things that made this battle so epic are the totally epic bombardment I performed in this battle, it was very epic, and the huge amount of warriors on the field. It was very epic too.

    Combat pics:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    ^^The fun starts in Sardinia.

^^My pikemen and artillery really dominated this battle, and they're the force that enabled this victory. I love pikemen!

^^Amazing blood effects! I love Crimson Tide! Though I had to modify it a bit as I didn't like the new flying objects', such like catapult, trebuchet and ballista missiles, smoke effect.

^^This explains how outnumbered my pikemen were; a huge enemy army running and pushing towards them and they still stand their ground loyally. *sigh*
The reason why my pikemen had to fight alone was that the ing retarded AI armies stopped immediately when their mangonels and trebuchets could reach the enemy army. Then, when I had almost solved the battle, their cavalry and heavy infantry came helping me.
Though that time they still helped me a bit.

^^Gendarmes charging against Feudal Knights. Nice dirt effect, isn't it? Man I love Crimson Tide, have I told it yet?

^^I think this shot saved me. It was an AI reinforcement mangonel. I thought they can do nothing useful in that battle, but that shot was a "gift from heaven".

^^Da Grand Melee at my flank. The enemy cavalry caused me some problems, they really had maybe 1,000 mounted warriors - if not even more.

^^Once I had banished the enemy cavalry I focused on saving my infantry. As you can see, now the AI reinforcements had finally arrived.

^^The battle was bloody and took away many men's life. Now the AI is routing.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    ^^My 2nd greatest victory ever.

^^Pikemen really did their job today...

    ^^... as well as mangonels.

It's totally awesome that one can have this kind of battles in Stainless Steel - thanks King Kong and countless submodders whose work is almost as awesome as KK's!

To be honest, this battle + extras (such like eating ) took me more than 3 hours to finish, due to the slight lag, screenshot saving (I don't use any program, just take the shot and copy-paste to Paint).

    ...

Now you ask: why didn't you post this to SS Screenshot Thread?

    Because
    a) no one reads it (properly), partly due to point "b"
    b) it's so full of pictures that your computer requires much more time to even load the pics on the screen
    c) ...to continue point "b", in this thread your computer loads them quite quickly I guess
    d) this was so unique battle that I think it deserves this - or are your battles often bigger than battles of 13,000 warriors?

    ...

Though I must admit I feel myself somehow guilty... Is this thread really spam? Should I post this to SS Screenshot Thread after all...?

    ...

Of course rebel fights aren't, won't and can't be this epic everytime, but this one was just a special one.

I never realized I could enjoy a rebel battle, but this one I did... not in an expected way, but in an epic way anyways!

    ...

I hope you enjoyed seeing these pics. In my opinion they're just awesome stuff. Or the battle is.

And at least I liked sharing this with you.

    Have an epic day,
    ~Da Goofy

My computer tells me to stop after 4000 troops in a custom battle. That's less than two whole stacks. But I do play unit scale huge for the effect on the battle.

When you press print-screen, it saves the picture in <C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\tgas> anyway I almost lost my Heroic Victory as (playing as Walter of Huntingdon, so appropriate ) because forgot to past into Paint but found it in tgas three weeks later (!)

You beat 5000 Ritterbrüder?! You can't get 5000 Ritterbrüder! The most you're ever meant to get is like 1000, they're the best knights ever

I know, but 85 % of my TGA images found there are totally black - I don't know why is this and I don't want to search the way to fix it, as it may take time.

No, because if you record your campaign battle and watch it later, it looks very different than in the original battle. There was a thread about this just a while ago, check the SS forum page 2, 3 or 4 to see the discussion.

Additionally, usually when I try to record my campaign battle and watch it later, it crashes - I think this is due to changes you've made in your game files, including installation of new mods.
Ah, i love these threads ! Good battle.
Nice to hear this isn't useless in your opinion!
