    Default Which chapter house?

Purely out of curiosity, which chapter house (Templar or Hospitaller) do you prefer and why?

For me, Hospitaller because they seem to pop up a lot more but I do like the Templars look every so slightly more.

I didn't include Montesa and the others because they're more exclusive.

Teutonic if possible. If not, I'll choose the Templar for the fact that I love stories about them. In term of use, I think Hospitallers are slightly better than Templars!

St. Johns just because they were more disciplined and mannered and actually fought uunder God's Cross, than the Templars who were seeking out treasure and fortunes...

I like the one that Aragon gets, but from these, probably St.John.

That was a continuation of the Templars IIRC.

I prefer Templars because they look cooler

St. John look cool but compared with templars are weaker in charges. Templars are devastating. In fact, only generals and late cavalry can be compared with them. Plus I preffer them to any cavalry because they low upkeep. But compared with this regular chapters, Santiago are close but the Montesa, the unmounted ones are very special. Top of line are the teuton house for HRE who mean rittenbrunders, best of the best cavalry in terms of ballance of cost, upkeep and power.

Usually St. John's gets offered first in a region that has gained enough "guild points" (I think it is because their trigger is topmost in the file). To get Templars you have to refuse the St. John's house and a few turns later it will be offered.

They were a subpart of the Templars who guarded the Hospitals during the crusades and became their own faction.

One thing - that does bug me though is the Canons of the Sepulchre - there's no history whatsoever about them in combat, and nothing to suggest they were involved.

One Chapter House I'd like to see are the Order of St Lazarus. Leper Knights =)

In game though, ALWAYS the St Johns. Mainly because they come up quickly when I play as Milan, and work well with Genoese Crossbowmen when defending and attacking sieges. Crossbowmen on the walls around a square are excellent to deal with Generals - while the Dism Knights high strength, accurate, and good defence against the odd incoming missile and can clear the walls quickly. Not to mention their high resilience to heat.

Just in terms of the game, I'll take the Hospitalar health bonus everytime... 5% bonus in a castle? I'll take that and run...10% for the HQS...It's a done deal for me...

I prefer both, so I can choose which one I want in my cities. Requires a little bit of modding, unfortunately.

If you have St. John and conquer a city with templars can have them both.

I don't see why they can't all be in the same city by default. I wish I knew how to make it so.

    They're guilds so it's hardcoded.
