    Default Who else misses...

..a way to order our troops to advance? Rome: TW is one my favorite games, but the maneuvres my troops manage when I simply want them to move in a straight line towards the enemy are mind-boggling. Especially my phalanxes tend to end up facing everyone except the barbarians that are charging towards them. If we could simply order them to march in the direction they are facing,we wouldn't have to micromanage every unit on the battlefield. Ah well.. if the game was perfect, I wouldn't have time for anything else.

You can advance in a straight line, just that you have to click EXACTLY ahead of your line from EXACTLY the middle of your line.

I was once an Angel of Total War Heaven, but gave up my wings for a life on the sea of battle.

..which is a bit of a challenge when moving the army across large distances. Still, the situations it leads to are on occasion hilarious. Well, not so much for the allied troops involved, but still...

The ALT + Right Click command is new to me, by the way. I'll be sure to give it a shot. Thanks!

Try grouping your units and then ordering them to advance. They should keep their formation. Press "spacebar" to see where your units are going to go.

This is extremely useful, rep from me Battlemap controls are actually very advanced if you bother to learn the keyboard combinations
