    Default Issue

Hello guys, i have 3 annoying problems here and i would be grateful if anyone could help

    1. I just installed M2TW and SS 6.2 on my laptop (wich is way better than my old pc ) and im having a problem with my cursor. Sometimes it changes to some kind of strange straight line, like half of ladder or smth Sometimes it changes back to normal after some time, but once it didnt even change after restart of M2TW. Any ideas how to fix this? ( Never had this prob. on my old pc )
    2. When i play defensive siege battles, sometimes the screen goes black and after ~5 sec. a loading bar shows up and fills up, then i can play the game normaly, but the walls start to blink or even dissapear when i move the camera. I doubt its overheating because i never had such problem on my old pc on wich i could hardly play medieval on lowest settings.
    3. And the last thing - is there a way to change that there would be no more battles in fog? Because its very annoying when you cant see anything but it has no effects on the AI.

Usually laptops are overheating faster than desktop PCs. So you should check temperatures while playing. Are your ventilations slot free?

Another thing you could try is up-/downgrading the driver for your graphics card.

Vista has a reputation to force "driver resets" resulting in black screens depending on the driver version.

Can happen to anyone, due to overclocking on the GPU too far and bad memory or overclocking memory too far.

It's not just Vista, that's been happening since the XP days, it's driver issues, not Vista.

My quote ends in "depending on the driver version" for a reason as in the end this boils down to exchanging drivers as it would be the drivers causing issues with this vista feature.
Vista activly monitors the reaction of graphic drivers and forces a reset if it deems it necessary.
If it works it results in a reaction similar to alt-tabbing to desktop and back leading to a black screen and the loading bar showing and if it doesnt work you get a bluescreen with "Attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed."
This Vista feature has a low tolerance which can lead to drivers beeing reset that weren't actually unresponsive. I've never heard of anything similar in windows xp - there you'd go straight to bluescreen.
