I guess you would define it as blues-esque rock music? Anyone know of other bands like The Black Keys? Certain White Stripes songs have it too; this dirty, unrefined quality .... the only words I can think of is music with soul and grit.

This is a bit more on the heavy side, with less 1970's to it, but its got that gritty sound:

    (If the link isnt working)

So basically take that and 50/50 mix it with this:

And you've got what Im looking for.

^^If I could find another band that makes music like this I'd be ecstatic

Any suggestions appreciated. Even if its older, especially if its older; I dont think alot of modern bands make music like it.

Elbow? Grounds for divorce is certainly gritty, it could be considered Blues, albeit an extremely new take on it.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

    What does "LF" stand for?

John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and Savoy Brown were the big blues rock bands back in the day. Oh, and Peter Green era Fleetwod Mac. They aren't necessarily as "grimy" as the White Stripes or Black Keys though.

I flucking love the Black Keys. Definitely my favorite band on the scene right now. Great live show! Love the Stripes too, but they're a different ballgame; far more punk. What you want to look for is early electric Blues and 60s rock. Those eras are the most influential for the current crop of blues rock bands.
