I personally do not fear death. What I fear of is the way death comes to me.
I think most people also fear the pain that death brings instead of the death itself.

You wouldn't be afraid if I came around your house with a gun and offered you a quick and pain free death?
The wheel is spinning, but the hamster is dead.

You can't feel any pain if you're dead before the neural impulse reaches your brain to register the pain, so a good clean kill there.
The wheel is spinning, but the hamster is dead.
The whole world is in chess. Any move can be the death of you.

I think what frightens people is what will come after death. If you are a religious fellow you may ask yourself: Have I been a good person? Will I get to heaven or Hell? If your atheist or anything you may ask yourself: Do I have any regrets? Have I done everything I have wanted to do in life?
So, based on my post it's your mind thinking of what will come after death which no person knows for sure, and how you think if your life has been a waste and such. Children are afraid of death because they haven't had a chance to live for example.
What frightens me is how the people I've left behind would feel.
Both, people are afraid of the way they are going to die and of what happens next.
HUMAN IS FISH ISLAM IS WATER. COME TO WATER AND BE RELAX...
And I certainly don't want to die because of something stupid like a car accident or something similar. I rather choose wether I fight for my life or not.
It's instinctual to fear death, seeing as you know deep down that dying would be an inconvience for any plans you may have had that day, and so is to be avoided for that reason.
The wheel is spinning, but the hamster is dead.
People do have a natural fear of the unknown. I'd imagine most people fear death itself, though some clearly claim otherwise. I don't know how honest most of them are but I would think they would be at least apprehensive-simply because it is something they never experienced before and have no account from others of what it could possibly be like.
The pain of death? How is that any different from plain PAIN? I think it is safe to say that most people do not want pain. Some may fear it; others are a bit more brave.![]()
I don't fear from pain, but from death itself!
Exactly, it's fear of the unknown. People don't like things they can't be certain of. haha I just rememberd a song called 'I Love the Unknown'
I can't be arsed with dead itself, the people I have to leave behind is the thing that bothers me.
I don't want anybody to cry because I died.
Mix of both, though honestly i fear how i die more then what goes on after. I'm alittle interested and apprehensive as to what is beyond the mortal realm
If it ends up being something live the movie event horizon. Words cannot describe how depressed i'll get...
