I wonder how we can replicate that ingame, Boom
There are ways to trigger rebellions by script, but I don't know how that works. I only know that RS have done so to trigger a Roman rebellion. But it would be far easier to do it via traits, so you give all the FM's negative traits (eg "Discontent with Leadership") which detract from public order if the faction leader is a bit messed up or is too expansionist. The one problem is that the citizens will revolt, not the FMs...

the rebellions would have been around 180 BC.
what happened was that a general assassinated the mauryan emperor during a military inspection and started his own dynasty, the sunga.
I think gamewise this would be quite difficult if not impossible to implement, you will have to uproot one whole faction and replace with another ! moreover the rebel kingdoms will be way outside our map.
I think what we can do to simulate the cultural aspects is somehow make public support inversely proportional to size of mauryan territory outside India and also increase public support for the rebel faction and its power increase in proportion to it ?
is that possible ?
I'll have to inspect the RSII Roman script and see if it is feasible for me to use something similar. I would probably need some help for it - scripting is one area where I admit to being completely useless However, I can do traits, so I can make settlements be more unhappy and produce less income and stuff like that if the leader is not a good and benevolent leader.

@Boom S could you recommend any books in english about India of this period?
Ancient India by RC Majumdar - Motilal Banarsidass Publishers
for a general overview of ancient India.
Chandragupta Maurya and His Times by RK Mookerji - Motilal Banarsidass Publishers
self-explanatory !
I would also recommend picking up the Arthashastra by Chanakya
the penguin international edition translated by LN Rangarajan is eminently readable.
I missed this thread before so I apologise for the late response.
The chariot problem,ie the extra 'wings' if I recall is from a 4 horse chariot to a 2 horse one. I do not know if repaired at this date?
In any event very good job here(and for source contributors,ie RG). Rep.
Thanks for replying I think we've probably solved it by now - the Mauryans look very different nowadays, and we would compile a new preview if we were not both writing exams at the moment
