    Default A record of CTD's

I thought it would be good idea to start a thread that could record those who are having ctd's whilst in battle or campaign map. It makes more sense to have a thread that just records events prior to the "ctd" in order to see any patton emerging.

here is the lates of mine i have had over 29 crashes since i bought the game when it first came out.
all of these happen when fight on battle map in GC. I have searched the "bug" thread" but it is so all over the place that you would have to trawl for hours to make sence of it, and i like many others have not the time. So please, being a "modder myself" allow this thread to run.

Haven't had one crash and I've logged over 100 hours of play. In fact, you are the first person I've seen who has had a problem with CTDs.

I've had one ctd in over 100 hours of play.

I programmed a gentleman to go from Moscow to Sophia University. Clicked on him in Wallachia to check that he was on course and bang - repeat about 6 times, same result. Simply going back to the save before he reached that point and moving him manually solved the problem

You are talking about ETW? With NTW only one during a battle. No error message.

I too get crashes when I play too far past the campaign "limits". While I've never got quite as far as you have, playing over 200 turns seems to make the game crash left and right.

yep it seems to be that most ctd's happen near the end of the battle, whilst mopping up, this has happened to me lots of times, then there might be when i have none. it is all very random and i think it is how the game allocates memory at the start of the battle. If possible please paste your Apps crash log, and alsy say if you are using are not using modded game, are you playing vanilla for instance or mods? thanks.

Playing vanilla. I'm having this same problem during the SPC. Had a large battle vs. Oldenburg and NTW CTD at the end of the battle when I was chasing routers. Only happens occasionally.

Me too, happens since Peninsular campaign. I can't even play Historical Battles til the end. Just when I managed to turn the tides (near end) the ctd happens. I tried a complete reinstall, deactivated two sounddrivers (so that just one remains) with no effect. I'll now try to reduce sound quality.

BTW: How do I get this ctd logs?

Go to event viewer in control panel.

This happened to me before the add on but only occasionaly and intermitently.

I sometimes get this "machine" sound coming from my speakers during the game since the add on though. Restarting the PC fixes this problem though.

I tried lowering sound quality, but the game offers no significant possibilities to do so. I raised sound memory up to 300 mb, just in case. But the next battle crashed again near end.

Found this, hope it is rigth. Can't get valuable information out of it though.
