Ben Hur

Here is the first of the videos, the complete film.

While I'm not particularly religious, I absolutely love this movie. To me, it has all the makings of a great film and was entertaining from beginning to end. Additionally, the scenes with Jesus almost made my cry...

Any thoughts?

I just wanted to bring this one up before Easter was done.

Awesome movie, better than Knae if you ask me, dunno, there is somethinga bout Ben Hur that is just EPIC....EPIC.....that was epic filmmaking, and the acting...oh God it was good....the whole deal with Messala was awesome. Definetely a must-watch.

I've been watching a remake of it which was playing tonight on the CBC - I'm not sure where it's playing outside of Canada.

It actually wasn't half bad, but it's a two-part thing.

Damn the original was 4 hours weren't it?

No matter how man explosions or special effects are jammed into a movie, it will never surpass the chariot race.

Ye it powns, not to mention the sea battle, that is complete pownage as well

Last year I watched that film on TV, before christmas I think. I thought it lasted forever, but it was pretty good.

Great classic film.

This movie was a true super-prodcution, just imagine the number of extras, wardrobe, etc...
Now all, even the main actors are CGI.

I've watched part 1 of the remake on the CBC channel two days ago, and really enjoyed it. I'm sure that the classic would be better though.

I lllllllooooooovvvveeeeee Ben Hur. I'm not religious anymore, but it's still one of my favorite films. It's epic in every single way. The chariot race scene is one of the best action scenes in movie history. That can't be contested.
