    Default Couple of things.

Well first of all and by far the most annoying. I keep getting seemingly random CTDs and crashes in my games. Examples being NTW, ETW;-DMUC and Fallout 3. Im using Windows 7 (64bit) any ideas?

Secondly, installed Black and White 2 on my new comp, for some reason Im stuck on low to medium graphics. any ideas?

    Regards

Have you updated your drivers? What is your graphic card?

Well then you could try rolling back the drivers to a previous version.

And how much RAM do you have? And when it crashes could you post the error code here? Or/and you can google it (the error code), because that might give some interesting results.

    8gb of Ram.
No error messages, the games freeze and I have to start task manager to get out of them. Thought it was the old drivers at first, however its still happening on the new ones.

I doubt it's a be install since most of your games seem to have that problem. Have you tried compatibility just in case?

@ Awqa Puriq: No, its worth a shot though.
@Mr Crusty: Its a new computer, had it for just over a week. Defrag not required.
It seems to happen between 45mins and 1hour into playing a game, which is especially annoying as its about then I really start to loose myself in the game.

Sounds like a heat issue to me. You might want to download speedfan or Realtemp to find out your CPU's temperatures.

You probably installed the latest ati drivers and that is the problem - they're .

Download and use ati's 10.2 drivers, problem solved (if you can work out how to get them installed).

    Good luck

Lol I know it sounds random, but it actually happened to me a few years back, my games would suddenly CTD & crash and other times would be really laggy as well as other crap happening in windows. At first I thought it was just the display drivers, but it turned out the HDD was on the verge of dying.

Seems that the compatability trick has worked. I've not tested it totally. I did manage to play Fallout 3 for a good hour and a half with no issues (Isnt Ultra high just wonderfull )
    Will try "testing" properly tomorrow.
Now, Black and White 2: Ive done a bit of digging, things involving the graphics.config file. Gave editing that a go, all well and good except I could not save the changes "access denied". Any hope for playing this on ultra high?

Good to hear about so far going good.

Try saving the file to your desktop instead and then moving and replacing it with the original. It's a little way to get around it, works for me every time, good luck Make sure you have administrator rights first otherwise you can't edit the files.
