    Default Giving my princess away...maybe?

I have been away for awhile and looking to start a new game as the French. I want strong ties with Byzantium (late era) so either I was thinking of taking a family member of Laskaris family and marry my princess to them hench they join my team or I was thinking of marrying my princess to the heir of the family Skantarios Laskaris.

From the start of the game I am going to marry my heir (Louis) to Spain's princess (Constanza) so that I have a strong relationship with Spain so that I can fight a war with the kingdom of aragon and not have to worry about both of them. When my heir (Louis) has a son and he becomes the heir to the throne I was thinking I would than marry him to a Byzantium princess. And from there who knows but that's how I plan to start my game.....any suggestions?

As long as your targets don't already get married, that's happened to me before.

I'm terrible with co-ordinates, tried to get Ordono Fierro to Adela and he ended up near Marrakesh. So unless I want an island I use character_reset

just point the cursor wherever you wanna move your character and than type in show_cursorstat and it will tell you what the position is and than all you do is type it in lol.

Here are a few more, sometimes I need to "borrow" money from the Pope (from the start of the game) and I pay him back later with interest. Also some traits get really annoying so sometimes I remove the crappy one on my family members so they have good genes, generals....ehhh who cares. Who doesn't use the fog of war one....lol, and sometimes I move characters around when I really have to, like if I marry my princess to a character and he is half way around the world...I mean come on it would take him half his life to get back to my kingdom and the chances of him getting killed it high and everyone would hate you for walking through their kingdom. So cheating helps sometimes. Also if you have an army stuck in your kingdom and they just sit there forever it gets really annoying so I move em with my God powers. Or a boat stuck in a lake, come on, those get annoying to look at, so I move em to sea!

character_reset (Allows a character to move again)

add_population "settlement name" "amount" (Allows you to give a city more population automatically)

give_trait this "trait" "level number" (Allows you to give any trait your faction can have to a specific
    general)

give_ancillary this "ancillary name" (Gives your character an ancillary of your desire)

process_cq "settlement name" (Anything in the city's building queue will be built automatically)

add_money "amount" (Gives you the specific amount of gold)

show_cursorstat (Shows coordinates under mousecursor in format x,y)

toggle_fow (Toggles on or off the fog of war. You can see the whole world map when inputted)

auto_win "attacker/defender" (When at the battle scroll, input this code in, attacker if attacking, defender if defending and press auto retaliate button. Automatically wins)

move_character z x,y (z=name of settlement or unit without title (except Captain). x,y=coords)

How do I marry foreign princesses?
Once after receiving a message about a Genoa princess coming of age I sent one of my diplomat to talk with them but there's no option of marrying my prince to her, and my prince is still single of course.
Do I have to find the princess herself and talk to her personally?

Yep, you've got to get to the actual princess, because they may have more than one.

Yeah I find it a bit annoying that you have to actually "hunt" princesses on the map but then again the game is not Medieval total diplomacy.
I fully admit to using the teleport cheat for this aspect of the game its already enough to micromanage merchants.

    Character-reset ftw, I fail at co-ordinates

    What does character reset do?

I have to admit I didn't even know the remove FoW cheat until a month ago when people were demanding I clear away the FoW on screens of a campaign I had posted screens from. So far the only other cheat I've learned is remove_trait "this" but it is useless since I don't know the names of the traits to remove. lol

    http://totalwar.honga.net/traits.php...nce&c=merchant

all the traits u need, merchant, princesses, general

don't worry about the faction, traits don't change (much)

i always hate when i use a chivalry general to increase population, and with low taxes on of course, but then he gets sloppy taxman, etc... wich sucks a lot, so i remove such traits, since i don't find it fair...

my general rule about marrying is that at the very least, i reach one of their settlements or most of the time, their capital, for the sake of rpging, and basically ask "permission" from the king/nobles, and then id do the teleports, other than that, and fow, the only other cheat i use is reset char, although not to have more movement points, but just so that a diplomat can initiate diplomacy between two factions, ie: venice and bologna, granted my diplomat originally had the movement points to reach the other settlement

I was wondering something. I married my Sicilian princess to an HRE heir, but when I checked the family tree a few turns later, I found he had gone and died in battle. Will this affect anything at all besides her not becoming a Holy Roman Queen?

May not be that important to you Ichon, but just thought I'd mention that if you want to know what to type for traits, just check your export_descr_character_traits.txt file in your stainless steel data folder ^_^. Anyway, as to the HRE marriage thing... Your princess have no effect on you once you marry them off. The only effect to them is that they won't get any/as many children with the Sicilian Relations trait.
