    Default Install help

Hi all on the forum. I have followed the installation instructions, fresh install, 1.3 patch, 1.5 patch, RTR 1.9 platinum installation. I have the shortcuts on my desktop, but when I open the game nothing has changed. You mention Rome Vanilla install ? I have the trilogy set, Rome, BI and Alexander, is this the problem ? Thanks, regards Jaywol.

I`m guessing you did the following:
    1. installed RTRPE in the wrong place. Possibly installing it in a folder called Activision as its installer does by default instead of redirecting it to your The Creative Assembly folder where you actually have the game installed. Newer versions of the game install in the latter location.
    2. when trying to start it with the desktop shortcut you were prompted with a message that it can`t find the executable to which it should lead to(naturally since the mod was in the wrong place) and you let it find it. Naturally again, it found the executable from the vanilla folder and is now starting the vanilla game.

Alternatively you have installed the mod switch version of RTRPE(which does not alter the vanilla files) and instead of using the RTRPE shortcuts(the only way to be able to start correctly the mod switch version) you`re actually using the vanilla RTW shortcut thus starting the vanilla game.

Personally I had a problem with my anthology pack in the sense that installing BI was actually downgrading rtw from v1.5 to v1.3 so I`m guessing BI was not actually v1.6 as it said, but the prior version. If you`re unfortunate enough to be in this situation you`ll probably get a message to select and item from the list when you`ll try to start a new campaign and not be able to start it. If this doesn`t happen then it means your pack is probably fine.

Thx, I'll check this and hopefully the problem will be resolved.
