    Default Changing settlements ownership problem

    Hi

    So, I installed the Extended Greek Mod 4, and I have a little problem with some modifications in the settlements ownership...

    So, I tried to change the amount of settlements that the Seleucids have. AFAIK, I had to do something to the armies that were supposed to be in those settlements. I gave the settlements and the generals to the rebels (Slaves). All good so far, but then I found a little problem...

    those two kept the game crashing. I tried to erase them from the strat, by removing all their entries, but to no avail...

    Now, I have them in the game, God knows how, as I removed them from the strat entirely (I think...), and when I try to click on them, or go to the area on the map where they are, the game crashes...

    If anybody could just help me to correct the errors, or tell me how I can change the ownership of the settlements that are not in the Seleucid's in vanilla, I would eternally appreciate it.

    Edit: I've been able to correct the previous errors, but now I have another one. I toggled the FOW so I could see if everything was alright with the settlements I gave to the Rebels, but as soon as I did this, the game crashed... I think it might be related with the Seleucid armies that I moved to the Rebels ownership. Maybe I had to do a little more than copy/paste them

    Any tips on this?

    When you move characters to other factions, make sure you have removed their entries from the family tree (which means any children and wives they had should either be removed too, or given to another character). Also, generals of the rebel faction get a bit of extra code in their character line, the "sub_faction XYZ" part. make sure that this is there. And finally, make sure their name is on the name list of that sub-faction.

    After a lot of trial and error, I managed to make things work. It's actually easier to just move the family members than erasing them, as that involves more changes in the files. I just erased all the generals that garrison the settlements I gave to the Rebels, as they were causing some kind of error as well.

    Now I'll try to find some way to garrison the settlements I changed, as they are a little empty now... The Rebel generals have repeated names, maybe If just copied them to the settlements... Aradan, does that means I have to edit the Rebel family tree? And if so, where would I need to do those modifications?

    You don't need to have a rebel family tree. And no, having the same name for captains doesn't matter.

    I never god to the thank you Aradan for your help. Your tutorial also proved very useful. I thank you for that.


    Now, I've got a new problem.

    I want to modify a mod so that I can use it's map, settlements, building details, factions, etc, BUT use the original troops. I wanted to know what files it would involve as the mod I'm talking about has many new units with new skins and changes the factions identity a lot in the troops field.
