A Couple Adobe Premiere CS4 Questioms

Hello everyone, I just have a few questions regarding Adobe Premiere CS4 and some other Adobe programs. Hopefully they are not too mind racking. I just got the program, so im sure they are newbie questions.

1 - In adobe premier CS4 I am trying to import a video that is about 10 minutes long, however it only imports about 2:49 worth of footage. Does anyone how to get all 10 minutes imported?

2 - Is it worth it to get Adobe After Effects CS4? I mean what's its use

Haha, well im the RTR Video guy, so I'm going to have to say yes .

Actaully we are planning a number of videos, some of which wont take long to get out. Im quite familiar with Microsoft's Windows Movie Maker but we decided that it simply wouldnt be enough for some of the advanced stuff we would like to do, which is why I now have Adobe Premiere CS4 (and a massive headache because of it ).

Actaully some of the ideas I have for RTR vids are sort of wacky and I dont think they have ever been done before. So hopefully people like them .

Ok, so i sort of figured out the first issue. AVI files wont import completely, but WMV files will. So ill jsut have to convert the files. No biggy I guess (if just a bit annoying)

Sony Vegas Pro, Costs the earth, but can do a descent job in Video Editing.

Yes, I fiddled around with the trial before, didnt like it as much as I like Premiere CS4 though.

Possibly try Premiere elements to get used to adobes layout and the limitations of the programs.
