Yes, it may look crazy but the romans, the greeks, the egyptians, the persans and many others used wardogs and pigs in warfare. Are we going to see wardogs in RS2?

I don't care what anyone says they were the most unique and fun unit ever! There was nothing more fun than capturing cities w/dogs or unleashing them on barbarian hordes. Those flamming pigs on the other hand...
i demand ,i DEMAND i say that the rs team includes the dogs in rs2
i have proofs that both romans and barbarians USED dogssssssssssss in battles
1 proof in the first picture there is a reacreation of the roman cavalry.rome didnt conquere the world with its legions but with its cavailry .
in the second picture we have the infamus to the romans chiouaoua berseker.they are even mentioned in polybius books
.....the roman legions were marching while suddenly chiouaoua bersekers coming from everywhere start attacking the romans.all the romans died.after rome learned about the disaster wanted to take revenge.and so they called http://us.ent3.yimg.com/movies.yahoo...gs/russian.jpg to help them.

When a nation forgets her skill in war, when her religion becomes a mockery, when the whole nation becomes a nation of money-grabbers, then the wild tribes, the barbarians drive in... Who will our invaders be? From whence will they come?”
― Robert E. Howard
you'd think someone would have the can-do attitude and add a fan-patch after the release, it's not like an RS player HAS to have every unit in every campaign.
I dont' think it'd be too difficult and it'd be fun to bring htem back. Imagine, recruiting legions of dogs per turn... : D
Problems w/ dogs in RTW.
1. Design Flaw-The wardogs themselves are untargetable once they are released. I've heard it mentioned before, (by Prince of Macedon, I believe, not that I'm totally with on everything) and I concur as well, that if a unit is being attacked, it should be able to respond in turn. Not making the dogs themselves targetable is simply a drop of the ball on the developers part.
2. Feasibility-Many units we have are multi-recruitable by different factions and while this is great, it makes it difficult for a project such as RSII when we would need to have many factions make them recruitable. And unfortunately, with the unit rosters we have right now, we're already making it difficult to find room in the recruitment rosters for unit space. In the end, the powers that be decided the spots would be better used with faction-specific units than the dogs that are already difficult to combat because of my previously mentioned reason.
O how small a portion of earth will hold us when we are dead, who ambitiously seek after the whole world while we are living.

So no dogs!Too bad, it would have been awesome to see the ancestors of the Cane Corso and Mastino Napoletano in action! Even Hannibal used dogs in warfare, but it's ok , i understand that they are very hard to implement, but i hope that in the next Rome Total War game, if will exist one, they will be present, because historically, they existed and were used very often in battles.
I'm willing to bet there were a handful of dogs if not more in every battle ever fought in roman times and were used. They certainly didn't form them into dog legions but I don't think that is what he was trying to say but yah pile on the sarcasm....
Ideally it would be awesome if you could include 1-3 dogs in your generals bodyguard but that's just me dreaming. Who can forget Russel Crowes bad ass dog from Gladiator!?
You've obviously never heard of Dog Company.![]()
Would you like to have a unit of dogs and a unit of flaming pigs? I'm sure we can add that in for you....obviously we'll have to remove a legion to do it because we have no unit spaces remaining![]()
**RS Dev Team***Reciprocal Repper!* RIP Calvin- you will be missed
What legions Marcus? Didn't we remove them in the last update?
or am I?

hey maybe you could create some war deers to distract war dogs once they've been unleashed or even better: flaming boars and flying or running stakes
no offence! I'm only joking! flying crispy bones??
agree! those war dogs were fun indeed!!!!![]()
