A new Resident Evil movie is coming out..... again.

Just when you thought they were done raping the franchise...

This makes Resident Evil 5 look like an Academy Awards nominee, and that's saying something. I HATED Resident Evil 5.

needs more zombies, less crazy ass monsters and evil corporations.

Needs more actual canon that's actually faithful to the games.

OMG they stole Wesker's throw sunglasses thing and put it in the movie. I thought Resident Evil 5 was corny.

This. The first two films kinda played fast and loose with canon, but at least they kinda sorta stuck to the overall plot of RE 1, 2, and 3.
After that, it just dove off the deep end.

Well I could say that this time I'm not the whose cynicism ruins everybody's good time, but then I realize you guys are only complaining because it doesn't stick to some sort of canon and not because the trailer rips off every action movie cliche since the Matrix came out.

The shooting while falling a building scene looks exactly like matrix reloaded

The original scene was lame, why copy it?

RE5 is not as good as RE4 but that game for me was perfection.

Problem was 4 knew how to be light hearted and funny. It took the bad lines and mistranslations that usually occurred in the old RE games and emphasised on them properly

5 Though tried to be too serious and it didn't come out right... That doesn't say 5 is a bad game when actually it is a very good one. Just needed a lighter tone (although with Chris vs Wesker i can understand why they went more serious)

I actually agree this time.

But you know, who cares. I enjoyed all of the RE films. I have no idea what the RE game franchise is about, never played a single game. The movies are cheap action flicks who offer you pretty good non-lasting fun, which is fine by me.

And I like watching Mila Jovovich bounce around the screen.

Exactly. While I feel principled to be against it since most video game movies genuinely do make an absolute disgrace compared to the games, its not like Resident Evil was a masterfully written epic that revealed and tackled mankinds darkest faults. It's a zombie game.

And with these past few installments, a rather mediocre (but still incredibly fun) zombie game
just like the movies. mediocre, and incredibly fun

That the trailer (and film) is a failing ripoff is far, far too obvious. It doesn't need complaining about, because it's such a blatant part of it.
Their deviation from canon is sufficiently incredulous as to merit rabid screaming of "DO NOT WANT" and infinite rage.

First Resident Evil movie. Good for Resident Evil Fans, 2nd Resident Evil Movie.... WTF kungfu zombie fest!? 3rd Resident Evil movie.... wow they stopped trying didn't they? 4th Resident Evil Movie, lets clone scenes from the game Resident Evil 5 to get the new none old school RE fans to join the band wagen.
