Default Rome total war worth it?

2 weeks ago i bought empire total war and i got addicted to it, it was also my first strategy game. So i was wondering, is rome similar to empire? Whats the diffrence bettween both campaigns? What are the things that will let me down in Rome? How long is the grand campaign? Which features does Rome lack? Will it run on windows 7?

yes in the sense its the same map battle type game. other than that it is completly different era as you can easily tell.

rome has greater variety, not the same unit seven different colors type of stuff. The rome map is smaller but more detailed, for example france has more than one region.

What are the things that will let me down in Rome?
one of the things that makes rome superior to empire iMO is that instead of a few of game breaking bugs, it has/had many little bugs that dont tend to ruin the game. other than that since i dont really know you i cant say.

imperial campaign is from 273BC to 14AD or something like that. Some things rome dosent have include the civilians that defend cities, unrepairable forts (you fight in citys with long winding streets), gunpoweder units, india/america, stuff like that.

And it Should run on windows 7, i have no idea why it shouldnt, but dont quote me on that
