hi guys. i was just wondering if there where any crazy weapons in the ancient world. i just remembered reading a wind on fire a few years ago and it had battle hammers with curved sabers on the other end. kinda weird. was there anything like that that ever took off?

Well Archimedes is said to have came up with mirrors that would beam down light and set fire to Roman ships when they tried attacking Syracuse.

Didn't the Greeks come up with some kind of big flame thrower as well? Not so weird by modern standards- but back then it would be terrifying

    Greek Fire?

I knew the Byzantines utillized it, perhaps their ancestors did, too?

As far as I know, we didn't. The Romans didn't use Greek fire either. I think Kallinekus invented Greek fire from the start.

There was an experimental roman unit made up of Scythed Chariots with Cataphract Lancers on the Horses, although it never saw action
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

If you look at Chinese weapons if you can think of it it was probably invented.

Yeah but those guys had empire-size resources for millenia. Even before unifying as an empire, the different dominions were increadibly large.

They did. You would need a huge one to make a large effect, but it was possible to set fire to wood with a small one

Well the RPG looks like a toy, it also has no trigger or any other kind of switch on the panel. The Scope looks real enough though.

Secondly, the mystery weapon 2 down below looks like one of those future balls you shake and they say "maybe" or "Try Harder".

    The Zhugenu comes to mind.
Also, poison gas used by the Chinese and others.

The Renaissance had all kinds of crazy weapons. Mostly made for the lulz though. For example,

    - A mace with a functional four-barrelled gun inside.
    - A walking stick with a poll-hammer's head, and a hidden rapier inside.
    - A warhammer with an extendible sword blade on top. Alternatively, with a gun inside.
    - A hunting partisan thing with two guns on top.
    - A sword-gun made for hunting as well.
    - Shield blades.

These are just the things I saw in a museum. More as they occur to me.
