Hi guys!

I didn't like very much the original splash screens of SS 5.1, 6.0 and 6.1, so I decided to create my own one. I made a new one for SS 6.2 as well, because I didn't know that it has a reworked splash screen.

Please notice that you need WinRAR, WinZip or some other unpacking program to unpack this mod.

Anyways, here are the installation instructions which are found in the .rar folder as well:

Installation instructions:

1. Choose either dark, light or very light version. As the title says, the only defference between these splash screens is the brightness level of the image.
When you've decided which version to use, open that folder and copy the splash.tga file found there.

2. Open your Stainless Steel directory (by default this is C:\Program Files\SEGA\M2TW\mods\SS), then open "data" folder and at last "menu" subfolder. Paste splash.tga to this folder.

NOTE: Before you copy-paste the NEW splash.tga to "menu" folder, most likely rename the OLD splash.tga so that you have a backup of the original file.

NOTE: Those are the new splash screens for Stainless Steel 6.1, but because my 5.1, 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2 splash screens are exactly similar to each other except the version number, that's irrelevant.

I suggest you try to take the 1st one, merge the layers and then rework the lighting globally to get more light (or add a 3rd layer with a progressive coloured background). Maybe add a colour (blue or whatever) to make it less "dull". On the 2nd and 3rd ones the map is too overwhelming.

Thanks for comments. I think this is only a beta version this far, I may continue working on them and fix those small faults.

IMO not, but as said I may later do some fixing on these. The first one is the best in my opinion.

Don't worry, I didn't take offense and I totally realize you do your best when giving constructive feedback as an experienced artist - I know it's not easy neither.

That may depend on your hardware as well - somewhere, not on my own computer, the same pic which was of good quality but dark on my computer looked very dark and stupid on that other PC.

And I tested fixing the 1st pic and noticed that you're right and I was wrong - the dark bluish tint really fits the picture. I fix my pics and upload the new ones today or later, depending on how I feel up to work. I've checked these pics again and again for 5 hours now.

Thanks bane. I think I will do some recolouring on the pics (dark blue) and that could be the official release.

So, 1.1 includes better balanced colours. At least I find that dark blue tint better than dark green one.

Again, all SS versions have exactly similar splash screens. The only difference is the yellow version number.

But it's a Templar! Could you make new loading screens too? I don't really like the RR/RC ones. And a loading bar like vanilla RTW?

@JognGlave: I'll probably still develop these ones, I think the map is a bit dull but I don't know what do these look like in the future. Especially the text may need fixing in my opinion. Additionally I may still change the background colour, the current one looks better here than in-game.

@Sir Walter: Probably not, I think I'm not a guru with loading screens and especially not with loading bars...

But thanks for commenting. I'm happy that this small mod has caught some attention.

As I said, there could be future releases - it depends on my own interest and time.
