Default Just wondering (PLEASE READ!!) [Steam]

Alright, Im downloading the mod right now and I guess im like paranoid and all jumpy but I have a question.

For steam, there's 4 choices of which I have to choose from, Britannia, Teutonic, Crusade, Americas. Once I have downloaded/installed the mod, which one of these will I have to choose? Or does the download of the mod make it one choice?

Please, if someone knows, let me know! Thanks!

Not sure what you are downloading from Steam exactly but I guess you purchased Kingdoms Gold?

You should need to only install 1 of the Kingdoms campaigns onto the basic MTW2 install and then you can install SS mod and sub mods. If you are Total War veterans you might want to start on some sub mods right away, otherwise maybe SS 6.1 version is the easiest and there is an installer you can download linked from TWC.

If you have Vista or 7 you need to disable UAC. XP no worries if you follow install directions.

The package includes all 4 campaigns meaning Steam downloads all of them at once. So I didn't really pick and choose which one I wanted to download. Now because of this, when I want to play Medieval, it gives me 5 choices

    1. Original MTW2
    2/3/4/5. The 4 campaigns

Im just wondering which one of the campaigns SS 6.1 will be put in.

It doesn't matter... along with those campaigns you got the Kingdoms exe which is what SS needs to run. Installing any one of the Kingdoms campaigns installs that new exe so that is why you only needed to install 1 but no harm in installing them all.

Stainless Steel doesn't overwrite any of the offical Kingdoms mods; it is added as its own separate mod/campaign. Now I'm not completely sure about Steam, but I know from my own non-steam Medieval 2 launcher, it lists Britannia, Teutonic, Americas, etc etc etc and then Stainless Steel as a new additional choice. The Stainless Steel installer will also give you a desktop icon to launch right into Stainless Steel without having to go through the launcher.

Best one to install to save space and play SS is Teutonic, it's the one I have and my Stainless Steel works fine.

There is a sticky for steam users. Please look at what I said in the thread. I don't know if the gold edition is same as downloading m2tw and kingdoms seperate, but if it is the same, it's how the ss should be installed.
If your windows ever pop a window after each file installation, saying that the program might not have been installed properly, just install again and say yes when it asks if you want it to overwrite.
Hope this is what you were looking for.
You don't have to delete any of the kingdoms campaign. SS will create its own. Just double-click on the game on steam and choose ss to play
