To the Play Test folder.
Please start a new campaign if you can using this folder.
The new changes are trait changes and map changes.

Awesome, thanks for the heads-up. That helps a lot. Rome campaign via Playtest folder still priority#1?

In the next week, there will be like changes to all campaigns as we put in the new traits and map. The only one I won't touch is the Play_Rome folder...because the Play_Test folder will BE that foler eventually.

Alrighty. I'm getting the parts for my new comp build tomorrow, fingers crossed the OS comes in.
Intel Core i5-750 Quad Core 2.66 GHz
Sapphire Radeon 5770 1GB 128 bit DDR5
4 GB DDR3 Memory
500 GB hard drive
So yeah, I'm going to get the parts put together over the weekend and I should get the OS and actually get some speed on RSII. Up till now I'm using my laptop and only get 15-20 FPS with large settings and very low graphics. Huge and highest detail here I come! Sorry, I'm a little excited...I think I peed a little.

Just to say that there are two issue with the map at the moment:
1) Blue triangles behind some coasts - I had fixed these but then lowered the coastline all around. I'll put these back
2) Aegean islands - surf disappearing and reappearing. Not sure why this is.
...another thing - it'd be really helpful if one or two people could just play a few turns as any of the factions - particularly Sparta and Macedonia (not playing seriously but just looking to see whether there are any map issues), fight as many battles as possible and take some screenshots of battles you fight to check the geography is ok. Please look for steep slopes and spiky mountains in particular.
I'll do that after I get home from work today!I'll take Macedonia since I haven't played with them yet.
Not as a serious camapign mind you - the folder is optimised for Rome so Macedonia will be easy - as I said just to check the geography all looks good.
I've made some further small updates to teh map so if you've already started a campaign make sure you delete map.rwm
thats fine i havent gone far in test campaign anywayz, and i think i can give macedonia a try for battles
"It's not always possible to do what we want to do, but it's important to believe in something before you actually do it"
I've given Macedonia a fair bit of woodland with some mix of beech and pine forests. For the Pelopponese it'd be good to see how the landscape looks. I'd also like to see how things are over in the Zagros mountains for Seleucids / Parthians / Armenia. Also if anyone fights any battles around the Alps it'd be good to see that too.
For those running proper Roman campaigns, we need to know how balance is and how the traits system is going.
Sorry this might not be what we're looking for, this was my second day at a new job and I haven't used my time wisely today after work.
Hilly terrain in the background, seems normal to me...

The only problem I see so far is the trees set in the water. I'm sure you lads know about this already.

I'll have better material tomorrow, I only have to work a stupid second job, at a stupid golf course that will only take 6 hours out of the day. Then Easter Sunday I should have loads of time to test.

what factions need testing atm?
SW and Medieval American, that's either not the Test campaign, or else you haven't:
1) Deleted map.rwm
OR
2) Updated it
I can tell by the lumpy coastlines.
Sorry, I forgot to say - you MUST delete map.rwm in order to see the map changes.
SW, I don't want you doing a serious campaign as Sparta....all I want you to do is play on easy/easy and see as much of the countryside around as you can, using the play test folder. It's not about testing sparta, it's about testing the scenery.
Ideally, otherwise, I want people to pound the life out of the Play_Test campaign as ROME on H/H. That's what it's the campaign for, and what we need to get the balance right for.
So, in summary:
1) Update
2) Delete map.rwm
3) Test the Play_Test campaign to death as ROME
4) If you have time, play as another faction on easy using the Play_Test campaign just to check geography
Does that make sense?
I've figured where the senatorial election traits are going wrong and will fix that. It will break saved games. I hope to get it done today / tomorrow.
Yes it does,
I did an update and delete map,
I will do it again, play Sparta on easy, and look at the landscape with pics.
On test camp.
