Help - Win 7 not starting up
Hey Everybody
Some help please. Computer was working fine last night, until windows decided to update.
Windows said it will update and then shut down. It shut down but can't get it up in the morning.
It ran through the automatic fix, could not find a problem, now it's telling me to contact system
admin or computer manufacturer.
I have tried two restores, but it comes back saying there is something missing from system 32?
Now what? I can not afford to take it in, it took all the bucks I had to get it together........
Any help will be greatly appreciated as always.

Re: Help - Win 7 not starting up
can you enter into safe mode? (F8 usually)
Other than that Id try using the windows disk to enter the recovery mode and force a new MBR althogh i belive they have changed the command in vista, I dont know about W7.
I would also google the win7 recovery console and learn what you can repair, there is a sort of GUI in the new recovery console but the command line still works beter. for me anyway...

Re: Help - Win 7 not starting up
Win 7 could not repair itself but I got commands from microsoft website. I could not get bootrec to work nor any of their commands. Since this was a new build and only programs on it, which took almost two days to load and update, I decided to just format the bstrd and be done with it.
That almost drove me to tears and now I am paranoid about this W7. Silly, maybe but after all that, who wouldn't be?
What do I do next? (Dear God, please do not let there be a next time. Please. Amen)
