Hey guys, congrats to new version anyway, is there any plan to incorporate ctrl C ctrl V ? sometimes its hard to do everything with a mouse, i know it is possible to export/use excel/import, but sometimes it would be very good to have that possibility.. but of course no rush

    Hello!

I know that it may sound demanding, but could you perhaps, in a future version, allow the PFM to read the models_naval table? That very file happens to be of very special interest to me, for reasons I may perhaps not have to explain (check my signature).

Jokes set aside, I believe (mainly thanks to Primergy for his quick research on the area) that this very file might contain information on where guns and crew are positioned in a ship.

    Thank you,

    Aanker

If anyone is willing to parse the file, I'll include it. It's probably the hardest of them all, though.

What exactelly does parsing involve? A hex editor and time or more than that?

    Default General question(s)

    A quality tool. Thanks

Is it possible to copy/paste multiple fields?

As an example: db/units tables/units - can I select (highlight) several rows, copy and/or paste the rows to another instance of PFM?

    2nd question
Will there be an update that will allow the importing of another TW (e.g., ETW) unit (or other selection) while maintaining its ETW formatting to use as a comparison to a [similar] NTW unit?

    3rd question
Is it possible to select single entries for copy/paste? Not the entire row, just one "box".

I suggest to work with TSV in moddng db/tables. It is far more practical and quicker to export the table as a TSV and work on it with a spread sheet program (e.g. scalc of OpenOffice or Microsoft Excel). Then you can import it back. In this way you have all the editing benefits of a spread sheet.

It is not very clear what you mean. Anyway you can import Empire units in Napoleon. There is already a tutorial about it.

    3rd question

Yes you can. Also you can copy/paste cells between PFM and a spreadsheet.

Is anyone else having problems with atlas files and 1.5.9?

As far as i can as i can tell you can edit the texture strings fine

If you try and edit the coordinates they get reset to 0

you can export a .tsv but its missing the width and height columns and you cant reimport it

    Any ideas?

Ideally we should go back to the atlas editing of 1.5.3 which is much easier+with an export and import tsv function.

What's the chance of our ever being able to unpack and extract the bmd.dat files in the CA-created battle maps? This would be a huge breakthrough for modders -- The bmd.dat files can be read in esf editor, but we have no tool that will extract a file from it and allow us to add directories and subdirectories, etc, the way we can now with pack files.

No idea. Do you see them in the data folder? Did you try changing the file type filter to "any"?

It is better to have in your tables only the changed lines and not all the vanilla content (you have to rename all tables in such case). In this way you or somebody else can truck easily the changes and see if there is a problem. Though in your case the problem is obvious you should also post an image with that.

There are 2 types of problems. Units icons and units models. the first one has to do usually with wrong entries in units_table 13th and 14th columns where the name of icons are assigned or with vanilla model name you use in uniforms table. The second has to do with wrong model name in uniforms and/or in uniform_factions tables. But these are generic ideas because your tables are very... long to search for errors.

well i deleted the files that i didnt change to make it easier i kept all the vanilla files because it made it easy to change whatever i wanted.....but I deleted the exclusive factions table since all i changed there was trying to add unicorns to GB and the uniforms table also added for the GB unicorns and the problems went away....so it was me trying to add unicorns that caused this....what do i need to do to get it to work?

You do not provide enough infos. Is it a vanilla pack you are trying to read or a mod pack you've made? Have you done any changes with Mod Manager? Do you have the latest version of PFM?

Also I see you have .NET version 2.0. Though I am not sure you'll fix your problem, programs like PFM need v. 3.5.
