The EU is an economic and political organization, which grew exorbitantly over the last decades. Currently we have 27 member states and three countries are on enlargement row: Croatia, Macedonia and Turkey. It is to be expected that the EU will continue to grow until she encompasses at least whole Europe and North Africa. Now this might be a natural development for the EU administration, but I fear that the larger the EU is going to become, the larger the problems will be. An oversized EU could in many ways resemble a mini-UNO: Nice in theory, but ungovernable in practice. Therefore I believe that instead of admitting new members, the EU should start to fire some members. I'd love to see a lean, successful and efficient EU. There are certain EU members, who don't contribute anything else to Europe than sucking money and constantly insulting us.
Here's a graph about, who pays and who benefits most from the EU (net contribution 2007 in billion €):
Here's the same from 2010. It's in German, but I'm sure, you'll figure out, who's who in that graphic:
Left are takers, right are givers.
You can see that Greece and Poland are probably very happy about constant EU aid.
Here I found a nice graphic about the EU budget 2007-13. Blue countries are takers, red and purple ones givers. The larger a country is shown on the map, the more they pay/ receive per capita.
So who should be kicked out?
Poll is added. You can vote multiple times. I hope for a tough, but still fair discussion.
Edit:
Here's a graph net by population. It shows, how much Europeans countries pay/receive per capita. By far Greece sucks most money per capita.
