Ok so Ive been doing some noob modding by myself if you can even call it that. (on RS 1.6a)
and ive been thinking of making a few units recruitable to other factions but only in certain areas for example.. lets say scutari and caetrati and jinites(prob spelled that wrong) recruitable for any nations in spanish regions and for example numidian cav recruitable in northern africa and some gauls and cataphracts here and there along with cretan archers in crete and.. yeah you get the picture.
ive managed to figure out how to make units recruitable by nations by editing the following
RTW\Data\Export_Descr_Unit.txt
RTW\Data\Descr_Model_Battle.txt
RTW\Data\Text\Export_Units.txt
RTW\Data\Export_Descr_Buildings.txt

when looking around in "RTW\Data\Export_Descr_Buildings.txt" I find citys called hop5 hop 6 and so on, andd unites that seems bound to cultures like greeks eastern roman etc (could be wrong here its 6:33 am and no I didnt just wake up ive been up all night) and theres cities called legio--
I know I cant siply say hidden resource spain or britain or northern africa I would have to type in all the city's names right? so what exactly would I have to do? is there some sort of file somewhere that gives away every city's name? and I dont want to mess up things for the original factions AAR eigher so that suddently carhage or whoever cant recruit their numidian cav in sicily.
The kingdom faction seem to have a pretty kick ass AAR should I try to impliment it into all factions or something ? Or is there a guide somewhere to where all this is explained perhaps? I'm sorry for the waste of space here if there is. and I'm sorry for disturbing you other guys on your work on RS![]()
