A small hack I did on the Byzantines
After playing the mod for a while, I eventually got sick of seeing the Byzantines with their crapass looking realistic armour.
So I decided to hack the desc_model_battle and export_desc_units files and give the Byzantines a long needed "roman" flavor. It wasn't even that hard, I just took the byzantine spearmen, scoutai and infantry and tagged a couple of barbarian invasion and vanilla models on them. The cataphract's horse was even unintentional, but it still looked great.
Eventually I got the swords on the comitenses, and even the javelins to work too. Not a lot of work, but damn was it worth it.

Re: A small hack I did on the Byzantines
hmm... the day you make a Glass Armor mod I'll give it a try. : )
I dont' like the Byzantine faction very much. I bet they have an exciting campaign, I just can't bring myself to play as them with the likes of the Crusaders and England and the HRE around. Though fighting off jihads and keeping european powers in check sounds awesome.
On second thought, those units are awesome!
