    Default Rome....CLASS?!?!!?

    Hey boysies and girlsies.

I'm now sitting in a class called "Art and Archaeology in the Ancient World: Rome," which deals with Roman culture (and obviously art and archaeology) from about 800BCE to 400CE...and some of this information looks like it should be very helpful.

Just thought I would share...and I'll try to help with anything I can, since apparently we (at the University of Cincinnati) have "the best Classics library in North America."

Hahaha, that may be, aja. If only my classes were so helpful. Unfortunately, being a Classics major at Mizzou means we're translating the Iliad instead of learning about Roman/Greek politics or culture.

If you're doing a major don't you get to choose what you study? I did. Im doing Republican History, and Augustus and the army.

I get to choose, but I'm actually a Classical Languages major with an emphasis in Greek. I guess I didn't include that. I'm taking 4th semester Greek and 2nd semester Latin at the same time right now, hence my relative inability to beta test like I'd want (however, that 2nd semester Latin is a bit misleading as I took 3 years in high school, I just needed the easy A's and I was two years removed since I took it in junior year so I wanted to freshen up my knowledge/vocab). I wish I had the drive to get a dual major with History. I just don't really like any other period except for the Classical Period so I don't want the prerequisites to graduate with that major.

pseudocaesar, where are you going to school?

Could someone consider doing the introduction for the Roman Legion Preview then please?

Okay well I'll upload some of the presentations from class if anyone is interested in the Etruscan/Greek aspect of where Rome pulled from, but we're not quite to the Republican phase yet.

Also, are you ready to have your minds blown?

My professor and TA in this class both offered to help "with whatever you need for this interesting project." ......and I think they were serious.

So now that I have access and a pseudo-guide to one of the best Classics libraries in North America, is there any more info on anything you guys need on that front?
