It was an awful film. It looked pretty but as you said, was one of the least original films ever made.

Not exactly, it's because Avatar has very similar plot/elements of movies such as Dancing with wolves, Pocahontas, Ferngully, etc... Besides being very generic and predictable

But that's beside the point, thinking a movie is awesome is different than it's quality as a film. 300 is extremely camp and has a bunch of other flaws but I still think it's awesome.
