    Chernish has been in touch with Neo (of Varyag mod) and this is his proposal:


    Hi!
    I wrote with Neo. Access to the beta is not necessary for him. He will make shields if I will send him the model units and descr_models_battle.txt. He was ready to give Bastarnae/falxmen, they already have a ready.
    Numidian cavalry - and that it must be done?
    About the muscular models. This is an exclusive Varyag-mod. Neo will make the Spartan general and the captain and new torsos with arms for the soldiers to RSII if RS-team resolve to use for Varjag-mod Roman texture and shields from RSII.
    Your solution? Send Models_unit to make shields?
    Will you give Roman textures and shields in exchange for muscle models?

    That seems to be demanding a lot for one small detail. Don't get me wrong, the Variagmod team has done some truly amazing work in terms of the muscles, but is that really equivalent to the Roman textures and shields? If I understand this correctly, muscles are just the result of skinning isn't it? Looking through their previews, I really don't see any actual improvements in terms of giving the muscles texture other than having a superimposed skin over the pre-existing model.

    The shields on the other hand are very well done, and it seems that he's only asking for the Romans in exchange for the muscles. I know I'm no dev but I do appreciate all the hard work the team has put into the Romans. This is almost a bit selfish of me to say but I say keep the Romans and ask the Variagmod team to do the shields. It seems they are willing to do the shields without receiving anything from the RS team.

    I agree, not worth it. Now, I'm not sure how the give-and-take works in the modding community , but I personally do't believe that their muscle models are that much more of an improvement on what we have right now. So we'd be giving up something for not that much in return.

    I think it is up to the guy(s) who made them....but yes, it does seem a bit lopsided. Still, our policy has been to be pretty lenient about sharing as long as it's after RS2 is released. I wonder though how much good this does us? Is it a 'before release' thing or afterwords update?

    Seriously, the Romans are so good they would need solid gold armor and diamond tipped swords to be any better, so who are the muscles for..the Barbs? LOL.

    My roman shields are ONLY for RS2... but Leif could give his shields if he wants.

    I agree with Dvk. it's up to the creator if he wish to share his work.

    BTw I most say it's really nice of him to offer to do all the shield thickness for "free".

    Definitely up to Pacco if he wants to release his beautiful shields. I'm still think its not the most balanced trade.

    im just giving my opinion but i would waith for atleast a couple of months untill i would release anything.untill everybody knows those great units are from rsII.and not that we hear people talk about have you seen those awesome romans vanyar mod "made".you get my point

    a no from me.

    first of all the romans are too good to be traded.

    secondly I think their torsos suck, they just took an armor image and gave it a flesh texture, or that's how it looks to me
