Souls and :wub: whats the deal with them?

They seem like a good way to survive your own death and such but I can't help thinking even if you end up in a heavenly afterlife or Nirvana then what? If it's a case that you're just there and that's that why can't we just be here and that's that? I'm not saying souls don't exist I'm fairly neutral on this subject.

I believe in a recyclable-soul

I'm nowhere near what people would call a mainstream dualist, and i hate organised religion, but the idea that the soul, when the body dies, just goes to heaven seems to be so boring i might try and stay alive forever. Im not ready now, but i know that when I'm older and i know my time has come i'll embrace death.

People have, before now, talked to me about death and expressed a real and true fear to it, and they always seem to be discomforted by my "uncaring attitude" towards pain and such. "You're too fatalistic" they say, but i believe im fatalistic enough. No point getting angry and worried about something you cannot control or will be able to solve eventually.

If there's a deeper meaning to life, heaven is for us, at this stage in our evolution, just a temporary resting place from all the pain between two corporeal existences. Then what we learn in this life about the best way to live will be tranferred as useful talents and traits to advance ourselves in the next. In the long run, as the millennia go by, we evolve as species that way, changing to something completely different from what we are now. If life truly works in this way, then maybe, long time ago, the souls that now appear as human beings were once much simpler creatures like dinosaurs or even more primitive organisms. Seen from a perspective like that, life would be a colossol adventure in all kinds of worlds.
