    Default TATW and a Darth Mod Future?

    Reading varied threads regarding strategic and tactical AI of TATW and noting this is suggested as one of the "last improvement areas."

    As any consideration been given to combining the superb talents of K.K. et. al. and requesting some "guest assistance" from the Darth Mod team? Darth Mod has a huge following in ME2 & Kingdoms as well as Empire Total War. His Team recently "finished" their one year's work with the last ETW modification, desiring to take a brief "break." The Darth Mods are noted for their improvements in the Tactical and Strategic AI through various tweaks.

    Just wondering, would there ever be any thought and ultimate "team-up" to include Darth Mods work into a TATW 1.6? Maybe if you ask "pretty please??"

    As a final, have to agree this is truly one of the best mods ever for any PC-game.

    ETW and M2TW are two completely different builds. In other words, Darth probably has very little modding skill in M2TW and KK very little in ETW/NTW

    Actually there is, or better was a DarthMod (Submod) for TATW, but he seemes to have dropped it.
    Perhaps he would continue it, if he gets enough requests.

    darth also made a lot of stufg in me2 as far as i know..? and since it is suggested darth comes here and the TATW team not there.. it doesn't matter if the TATW team knows empire

    I was just trying to explain to the OP that they are two very different setups, especially for modding purposes. And I didn't know Darth had any prior modding experience before ETW. Thanks for the info

    If he can raise the tatical skill of the AI in TATW i m all for it. Thats really the last frontier. It even may be that as a result we may diminish the stack problem.

    Last improvement areas? Germanicu5 and Point Blank have made several collaborations to vanilla TATW and continue to improve it in their sub mods.

    Perhaps you'd be well served by READING the first post instead of anxious to criticize? Clearly with so many posts to the board you don't have much better to do...

    To the other poster, DM also did significant work for MII and as the illustrious and certainly well-informed poster above noted, provided a "mod" for TATW back in May 2009 which was compatible with 1.2(+?).

    The point of the original post was to include in TATW Version 1.6 the tactical/strategic AI developed by DM over the years-- not as a "mod" but as part of the actual patch....

    Capice, or do you need a phone call for me to explain it?

    Oh man you really have no clue, if you had spent a bit more time here on the boards you would know that I don't post all that much and I rarely address these newbie questions. It's just that you made a statement that I thought was incorrect and that you did not back up. If you were quoting KK, the developer of TATW, then you can link me to his post.

    If Darth already made a mod for TATW and KK did not contact him to include his modifications in the main game and instead preferred to use Germanicu5' ai, then it's fair to suppose that a collaboration is unlikely to happen.

    You do realize Louis Lux is one of the guys who put A LOT of time into the making of TATW right? Don't be a dick to this guy, he's one of a few very skilled modders who made your post even possible.

    And yes tatical AI is the final frontier, thats why NTW IS a fulll product, and not what it should be a mere expansion like kingdons.
    To be able to better AI, they had to rework a major part of the tactical AI.

    Yes it does mate, especially Germanicu5' work regarding battle ai.

    While there's no denying that it would be interesting to see what Darth would do with TA:TW I do not think that it would be that necessary, I mean I love what he does with the vanilla Total War games and how he improves them, I just don't think that there is much that he actually could do with TA:TW the AI in the mod is already pretty good and the skins for all the units already look amazing.

    They do it by scripting that doesn t improve much of tactical AI.
    Its a lot create that , spam these if this happens.
    You see, i like TATW so much that for the first time i wen t poking my nose into the scripting. Althought i wouldn t be able to do it myself (yet)its very easy to understand.

    I think everything that can be said here has been said. KK is perfectly capable of making these decisions himself and of course anyone is free to pester DV to update his submods both of which can be found here:

    I guess it wasn't meant to be. Possibly there was so much sub-modding being done and so many compatibility issues that DV's mod didn't have a niche to fill what with rc/rr, G5's AI and all the other stuff that needs to work with these two.
