dragon age origins CTD

hi everyone. having a little problem with dragon age origins. its not a corrupted save or a wrong version as it dose it on a fresh install. every now and then it will just crash and come up with a message sayig it has stopped working. i am using windows 7 64bit and have an ati card. ive heard downgrading drivers to 9.7 might help. how do i do this? thanks

Going back to July 09 drivers is a bad idea and if anything you should update your drivers to 10.3 to ensure maximum stability. What is your video cards model number?

i cant remember. i think it is a 4890. its a saphire vapor 1gb if that helps

Is this Dragon Age Origins, or the Awakening expansion? And which patch are you running?

think ive sorted it now guys, thanks or the help. i disabled one of the cpu cores and ha been fine since (touch wood). only thing is its a bit slower now (only on 2 cores ). dont supose i can do anything about that can i?
