Default How is your current RM3 campaign going?

Post it here.. but I'll start.

I am playing as France and I started out pretty well but my empire began to slip into decline after a while. Here is what happened. My first turns I started out building forts along all the roads leading the Paris and garrisoning them with one family member and a bunch of troops. The plan was to have them deploy when I need them to whenever I decide to attack and also to protect from HRE attacks from the east. As I predicted they did attack (a town north of Paris) but only stood by the city instead of attacking. I quickly mustered an army and built a fort right outside that city. The HRE went around it and attacked but I came behind them with the extra fort I made and drove them off with a clear victory. A Polish diplomat came by and offered an alliance, with trade rights and map info. I accepted, believing they would join the war against the HRE with me. And they did. The HRE attack south of Paris but since the area is very mountainous I was able to funnel their armies out one at a time. I decided to attack everyone on all side of France. After a while I was able to capture Caen and a town west of it. I also deployed some of the armies from my lne of forts to attack the HRE. Really I was burning through Germany with Poland on the other side eating away at the eastern HRE territory. Eventually, All the land that HRE had left was at the top of the boot of Italy and a piece of land by Denmark. I took that land, and I finally met up with the armies of Poland and I shared a border with Denmark. The HRE stayed quiet for awhile where they were, but something happened that I sort of saw coming. It was like coordinated, in one turn, both England and Denmark attacked. England marched straight to Paris and Denmark tried to gain the land I stole from the HRE. England eventually captured Paris (crap) and Denmark took the land they wanted. I was now in a three front war and Poland is in its own world. I guess they wanted out of the war. The HRE began to counter attack south of Paris again, and I was able to muster up an army to recapture Paris but england came up behind me and drove me away. I went back, only to find out I can't build ladders (walls are too high). So now my campaign is at a stalemate as I have to find out how I'll get Paris back, how to gain some land in the west and fend of HRE invaders in the South. Crap...

    As you wish, Mataputas

My english empire today - whole England and Ireland with European counties

Don't worry, I didn't declared war on France - they declared it to me ! But their agression has been stoped - 5 victories of English troops and frenches are dead

Here are few pictures of best battles :

Edit : I'm playing on Normal - Normal, because I'm not a pro of Games

Wow that look like a good challenge in started a new campainge with the spanish took all portugal, pamplona and took Valencia from the islamics but they send a medium army and took my capital (lol i only hade my king and 2 frontline men) but in the next two turns took it back, but my diplomat saw a full flesh army coming that way O_o =P

I play on hard/hard =P its more challenging and cooler

PS: You should try getting an aliance with the spanish maybe they can help you a bit in there borders with the english.

I'm in the middle of a Teutonic Order campaign right now. I just destroyed Russia, and Poland was just destroyed by the HRE. France is gone (thanks to England and the HRE), the Byzantines rule Asia minor and Greece, Hungary is doing okay, I believe Scotland is confined to Ireland, Venice is almost gone, Norman Sicily rules all of Italy, the Moors control Spain and west Africa (The kingdom of Spain is their protectorates and has its two starting territories). The Crusader Kingdom controls the middle east, and Denmark holds Scandanavia.

The HRE is the strongest power on the continent right now, and just declared war on me so I'm hurridly shifting all the troops from my eastern front to the west. Unfortunatly conquoring Russia took longer than I thought so I have to leave the Mongols at my unprotected back to stall the HRE (Never a good idea!). Hungary and I are allies, but I've been fortifying that border too since allies in RTW are always fickle. None the less, they serve as a nice buffer between myself and the Romans. I'm hurridly preparing for Operation Barbarossa and am trying to block of access to Russia by building lots of forts, we'll see how that works. Should be a good fight.

I'll post screenies in a bit.

okay in my first campaign im england,

at the momment things in scotland arent to great since they had 3 full stacks at Edinburgh i decided to attack amsterdam wich was a success now they brong one of those stacks to amsterdam =/ but i might be able to defeat them. over in france however things are looking good i have took tour brest and rennes and am about to take toulouse although it has heavy resistance the french have went all out defence since they have got squished in between me and hre . I also have all of Ireland which building ports quickly in to ship some frontline men up (cause there cheap and causaltys dont really matter) in scotland however they dont have very advanced units like me but in france my units are very advanced I loved it when i saw the feudal knights.

NOW ON WARD TO CRUSH THOSE SCOTS AND THE FRENCHIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry warmonger (noticed you are playing as france and thats sort of a tight possesion you got your self in)

    FOR ENGLAND!!!!!

also how can i take screenies other than from xfire

    UPDATE:

after 2 turns i decided since i had like 80k i decided to make a merc army full stack and so i did and i sent them stright to Edinburgh the battle was quick i fought 2 full stacks of scots but realised that most of there men where miltia so i let them come to me fought the first stack battle only lasted like 2 seconds with that stack since one of there units routed and that start a cascade of there men fleeing.

Now the second stack it was a bit tougher and had a family member but stupidly they send there family member to the wing (which i had 3 units of swords) the battle raged on but there family member died and then when i heard the enamy king is dead i was like oh he was a king cool this made there army run i chased some but since my army didnt have any horses i couldnt catch up with most of them.

when i got into the campaign i realised that all the scottish citys where rebels and i was like what the hell? but then i realised there king must have been the last family member so now its onward to victory!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Press the Print Screen key (at the right of F12). Then go to your Rome Total War folder, then to tga folder, open the latest created file (highest number) with Photoshop and then save it as .BMP

Then you can upload the image at imageshack.us and post it here (do you know how?)

If you don't have photoshop, after pressing Print Screen just press Alt+TAB when you are in game. Open Paint and paste the screenshot there (Ctrl+V). Then save it as BMP and upload it

I saw your post before i started my france campaign cronicles and since i played england before i knew bordeaux and caen is pretty weak at the start and so i destroyed them in the first part i am scouting the area of hre troops before i attack them and because of your post i decided in my french campaign i invested in a few mercs and some frontlines (look at chronicles for more details)

I'm not as good as any of you guys but this is what's happenin with me now.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
In the first few turns i sent off as many diplomat's as i could. I got alliances with everyone around me apart from sweden. naturally, i destroyed them.
This is after HRE betrayed me and forced me to fight off an extremely determined attack. so i am about to counter but i'm lacking in money and soldiers, although i do have a lot of mercenaries.

This is the mess i left in the gate at frankfurt, someone's gonna have to clean that up!

I succesfully captured vienna, frankfurt and Bremen.

I'm moving on the most northern city of the HRE block then i can just sit on the bridges and develop my economy for a while.

Although annoying i seem to have a CTD as in the new turn when it gets to the HRE turn it breaks.
    thanks for reading

    Try this little file:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8P5LV3WQ

Your current campaign CTD cannot be fixed, but you shouldn't have problems if you start a new campaign...

REMEMBER TO BACKUP THE ORIGINAL FILE!!
