    Absolutely amazing.

    What are your thoughts?

Personally, I think its absurd they demonize games as opposed to movies and music. There is also the question of censorship, whether interactivity has a real affect, and more.

I had to stop watching that after a few minutes - the audience is deeply depressing.

Is it? People only want their own views confirmed when they make the effort to show up for this kind of thing.

But how selected was the audience? notice that no one clapped when the gamer made his points about movies and the teen rated games.

The Byron report is an offical investigation carried out by the British government that was brought up by Tim in that video that supported him as opposed to that mystery investigation that the woman brought up. The woman just made broad sweeping statements that appealed to the crowd. It really pissed me off how smug and deprecating of the videogames industry those people were, particularly when they clearly had no idea what it entailed, and they completely ignored the fact that games are under a very strict age rating sytem like movies.

I think they are simply more general "modern life is bad" type people. You know, Dailt Mail readers and the like.

Video games are bad for you. TV is bad for you. BUT show me a cheaper , legal way to keep yourself from climbing the walls with boredom.
It costs money to stay busy.
You could interact with people, instead of with a machine, but that's up to them.

Yeah, in the same way that literature, film, music, dance, and comic books are bad for you. Which is to say, not at all.

Yeah I saw this a few days ago, I feel sorry for the guy in the purple shirt because the entire show is against him. He is the only reasonable guy there.

This is what happens when you have a culture concerned with eliminating anything that is bad or negative. They seem to lose sight of what their comparison is to. If you compare youth crimes before video games and after video games it's significantly dropped. I honestly think these people are comparing video games to doing nothing in that period. Yes, you hypothetically will become more aggressive and this or that when compared to nothing. The only alternative anyone poses however is a return to the 70's-80's when youth crime was an an all time high. That or sports, and sports are hilariously more negative than video games.

^^ At least people don't trample one another to death in video games as they do in sport. Oh, and Hooligans.

I wonder why none of them had anything to say on the topic of parental supervision and jumped straight to the "lets ban them even though its illegal for children to buy them anyway" train of thought instead.

Id argue games are probably bad for you if you play them pretty much all the time, though id make that point for violent and non-violent games equally, or other similar activities like watching tv or generally not being active. In either case its hardly an argument for outright banning - Im sure kids of a certain age would eat nothing but chocolate if you gave them an unlimited supply, doesnt mean chocolate should be banned.

I love the irony in "sex expert Julie Peasgood" going on about how games create sexism...yea ok. Samus was a woman and surprised the hell out of everyone when that came out. I call that equality!

    Pointless talking...
If you harm someone by knife, don't blame knife for that.
Why they don't give those kids the "perfect" way of life then?
It's better to make the education time period more disciplined than criticize technological entertainments.

It also has no sense to ban games, books, naked ladies photos, plastic guns...

Just a silly cop out for parents to take when their children turn out the wrong way because of their wanting parental guidance.

Lol @ the magnitude of the random influx of statistics....
Lol @ when he keeps stating he doesn't think they should NOT be in the hands of kids and industries doing things to prevent such and give parents power to restrict them, they ask him like "WELL WOULD U LET UR KIDS PLAY DAT?"
    Lol in general.
