Default Family member portraits/campaign event images

I have a lot of time off (spring break plus a weekend) and I want to work really hard on the images of buildings, family members etc. Now to work effectively I need to know who has been working on these so we are on the same page. Please post here or PM me so we can get some work done! =)

Id love to work on a new look for the family members for each faction. If some work has been done in this area, id like to know what program (and style) so we can do other factions and all that.

The only work that has been done is using some historical images of certain key characters based on busts. Worm did this work, but hasn't done anything on it for months. There are probably only a few characters that he did. There is a thread about this in the developers forum.

Event pics are a work in progress that Greve is doing here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=331572
To be honest no-one other than Greve is coordinating this work - neither DVK or I have got time to be able to take this on as well, so if you and/or Greve are able to do this then fantastic! All the information is in this thread.

    Thanks tone =)
I can't find where all the family member portraits are? Please could someone tell me the location of these files?

I suggest you get access to the developers forum by applying again but to that one instead and I'll point you to the thread....

Exactly where they get put in the game, I'm not sure.

We have also been offered the work from Halie satanus's spartan mod which has a load of generals.

However, it'd be great to have some generals with helmets on..
Have you got any experience with 3D modelling?

No experience. Well I'm using the same program he is and its not very complicated at all I just have issues with hair ( I can't seem to figure out how to put hair on them) And yeah I agree we need pictures with helmets.

Yeah can't put hair with this program. Hmm I have another game that uses really cool looking portraits (called "Rome" its from europa universalis series) and we could implement those and I can work on them with gimp program so they have an original touch but then again I don't know if this is legal or whatever lol

Also, something else we could consider is contacting the guys from a mod called 77 BC (twilight of the republic) and they use really neat looking portraits I don't know if you have seen these. Maybe they know a way we could find some or a different program.

    Let me know

I think that it isn't legal, given that we are using stuff made by another company.

I'd also check out the work that DogFart has started on for Rise of the Nations.....I think he's doing some rendering work using one of the 3D programs to create new characters....if you can produce anything like that it'd be amazing.

....but it's a big work - probably a few hundred portraits!!

    Chernish,
I don't know whether any of the other guys in your team would be interested in helping out a little - Neo I guess is busy but maybe he could help with hands and shields?

Tone, Neo answered: Help I can, exactly what they need help and how quickly?
Write him what to do, specifically, and perhaps he needs access to the beta?
He has an account on TVC --

Please pass thanks to Neo for his offer.
I'll come back to you, Chernish. Yes, he probably does need access to the beta.
    Ideally:
    A) Adding hands to stumpy handed models
    B) 3D shields
    C) New units:
    1) Bastarnae / Dacian falxman model (with Suebian knot for Bastarnae or with wide abdominal belt and cap for Dacian)
    2) Numidian cavalry
    3) Spartan general and captain - we have some ideas on helmets and so on from Keravnos - the units need to be chronologically appropriate for 217BC

Some of this could be added as a post release addition....I sincerely hope that we can release within the next 3 weeks (otherwise I will go crazy!!!)

Awesome. Chernish, what program did he use for those awesome portraits? There are going to be a lot of them I could definitely help. I really want that style, it's the best.

A lot of portraits he does not, but those who were in 77 BC, and those who do, and yet - you can use in RS2
