I'm gonna sound older than i am in this post, but do any of you younguns have any good political punk bands to listen to these days, the likes of Propoghandi, Bad Religion, Black Flag?

Or do you do only raise your fist for simple plan and Justin Bieber? The way it seems to me.

    Justin Bieber? Good God......

You could try Rise Against, they're political (and Punk!), but I don't know any other than them (unless you count Green Day, but they're more pop). Rise Against isn't all that great in my opinion, though.

Political music annoys me. It's music, don't get other crap involved. Plus FYI, nobody listens to proper old style punk these days as, it is and was, awful. Most of them couldn't play their instruments well and none could sing.

Sure is nice to have opinions huh?

You could have 3 guys in a garage somehow hit upon an amazing sound and not need to have audience fan approval, no dial in registration, no multi-million dollar image campaign, no ludicrous voice reproduction, no fashion gurus. Three guys and a good sound. And no whiny boys that look like girls, no cutting of wrists, no hair sadly down over the eyes. Three guys and a good sound.

You've entirely missed the beauty of it. The pendulum will swing around again.

We still have that. Maybe you should open your eyes and realize that yes, there is alot of pop, and there has been for decades, but there are alot more smaller bands as well.

Please, don't mention Justin Bieber and Simple plan in the same sentence. The latter are actually quite good for a ridiculous pseudo-punk emo crew.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

If you like pop punk i feel i'd have to reccommend bands like The Groovie Ghoulies, The Queers, The Ramones, The Riverdales, The Lillingtons, Pinhead Gunpowder, The Descendents, Chixdiggit, The Distillers, Lagwagon, Pennywise, Diesel Boy, MFGG, The Soviettes, Face to Face, and probably a few others i've forgotten.

Bands that to seem to care more about having fun with their music than doing their hair. List might be outdated as tastes change and i've moved on somewhat, but still some good bands there.

is disgusting. It shouldn't even be listed as "music", rather under the categories "torture" or "capital offence".

I can't think of a genre that puts more effort into their hair than punk.

They're the worst of the lot. No harmony, awful melodies, retarded text. I wouldn't even subject known terrorists to their "music".

I like black flag but I wouldn't classified them as a political band. Dead Kennedys delt with some political issues (california über alles) but I see them both as just punk bands
