    Default Facebook Charity Group

As the title says, there's a facebook group that's aimed at constantly donating money to charities. If this doesn't interest you feel free to close this window, but if you'd like to hear more please read on.

The idea is simple; once per week the group chooses a charity from anywhere around the globe and each member donates to it. The minimum donation is £1/ $1.50 but more is welcome. Each charity chosen will be something life changing, such as helping to cure diseases in developing countries, supplying people with food and fresh water or stopping child abuse. Believe me when I say that the money that we donate, however few of us there may be, will change lives.

It's a request-to-join-group as it helps to filter out people who'll join but not actually donate week by week; this group's whole purpose is to make a change where it's needed week by week, not just one time. If you'd like to join please go to:

If I only get 1 person from here to join then I'll consider it a success. Thanks for the taking the time to read this and I hope you join.

This looks like spam for a scam to me

I suspect this has been posted here because religious people can seem gullible...

Anyway, what kind of philosophical discussion is this supposed to promote?

Actually I posted it here since I figured it was something that philosophical/ ethical people would be interested in. Helping others and making the world a better place for them and all, no discussion to it to be honest.

What percent of the donation actually gets donated? What actual organisations do they give to? Is there any guarantee that the money will actually be donated?

Well since I made it I can guarantee that all of the money gets through. The idea isn't that group members pay to the group, but directly to the charity. I'll find a charity and link the group members to a page where they can donate over the internet, so how much the group donates is ultimately down to each individual, but the idea is that the minimum is £1/$1.50. Hope that clears things up
