Pirate bug: known solution?
Hello Stainless-Steel-Fans!
I'm playing a hotseat-campaign at home with my 2 brothers. it all went fine until a "pirates rading my searoutes" event popped up. we are now all loosing money each round, even with much less troop upkeep! Only I had reached 75'000 gold, the others had much less/even in red numbers, so only me and one of the others could pay 5000 gold to "avoid" it. My brothers are now, after about 5 turns, all in -35'000, and I'm at +8'000, going down each turn.
I read about this beeing a bug only to be resolved when starting a new campaign. Can this be true? I mean, when its a known bug, why wouldn't it have been solved with SS?! Is there anything I could do? I would even learn how to mod the whole thing (though I have some experience already), just to go around it...
It would be so sad to quit this awesome game we have running so far only because of this!
Help is very much apprechiated, thanks!
greez,
Hambi

Re: Pirate bug: known solution?
It is solved in 6.2 & the RR/RC Compilation. Since you're obviously playing SS 6.1, the bug still prevails. The only way to continue your campaign is to use the console to add 5000/12000 each turn, depending on what choice you made. Changes to the campaign files are not savegame compatible.

There is a fix posted in the FAQ. It's not savegame compatible though. Please do a search and read the FAQ before posting new threads
