    Default Tips

    Hey,

I just downloaded this mod and i have to say: It's totally awesome!!!

but i have some tips about the campaign:

To improve realism, you can add these factions:

    - Umbar, in this mod, umbar is part of Harad, as far as I know, Umbar always where a city state with some rivalty against the Haradrim (of course, Haradwaith wasn't one kingdom to except under the rule of Suladan the serpent lord).
    - Khand, this nation east of Mordor and South of Rhûn has to be part of the mod, i think. Sauron had some mercenaries from Khand, also Khand can be a new treath to the Harad and Rhûn faction. I think Khand is cool, the warriors look like Samuray .
    - Angmar, Angmar is a kinda strange nation, after it's ruïn (after the fall of the witch king) it became a rough land with orcs, goblins and shades. I think Angmar would improve the gameplay because it shall form a new treath to eriador and rivendell
    - Elves and Dwarves, i think its better to split the Wood elf and Dwarf factions. Then you will have the Mirkwood elves, the Lothlorien elves, the Dwarves of the blue mountains and the Iron Hill dwarfs (+ erebor).

    Other tips

I think there are too less different units. If you want to make this mod even cooler, you may try to create more variety in one faction. Dol Guldor for instance, Sauron uses a lot of different troops there than in Mordor. Also, you can try to make moor regional troops for Gondor (the fiefdom's), Harad (like more troops from Umbar) etc.

    TIP!!

I think you guys already know, but you can get the best inspiration from the Games Workshop (Lord of the rings strategy battle game). If you buy the Legions of Middle earth book, you can see almost all the troops that where active in the third era, its awesome!!!

this may sound like I don't like the mod, but that isn't true It's one of the best mods I have ever played!! (besides Stainless steel) Keep going team! I like your work

I hope you guys can do something with my tips

    P.S.
    sorry for my bad English

    EDIT:

OOPS, wrong place, btw, i found some submods (like 2 minutes after posting this :S) where i found some of the things I wanted :O

Yes, quite a few of these requests have already been answered by the submod groups. Not all of these mods are finished or compatible, but you should be able to find at least some of things you want. By the way, welcome to the forum.

You must understand that Game Workshop is not a good Tolkien reference. They imagine a lot of things to have a larger roster and a high number of products, but as the TATW team want to respect both the Tolkien's opus and the movies (which are rather correct and accurated), they cannot implement what you've request in the official version. Fantasy is exactly the thing to avoid, because Tolkien's universe is not warhammer's ; we can say it's the contrary.

I agree, but Games Workshop has a LOTR strategy battle game too, wich is based on the movies and Tolkiens books . They have much books with extra information about specific factions, battles and stuff, like Harad, Rhûn, Sauron the Necromancer (Dol Guldor), Arnor, Khazad Dum and much more. I think you can get much background information there.

it is best to get it from the source: the books of tolkien

noway that gamesworkshop could be more accurate & lore then the creator.. when the need for fanbased intel is necessary it might be a good source..

I know that, it's exactly about that I was speaking. I've some of their figurines too. But books and after movies are the only real sources at my eyes and it seems that it's the same for the TATW team.

    And I agree 100% Patrician1.

You know, without a bit fantasy games get really boring
that's why I like FATW more than TATW, they don't say:"tolkien didn't say anything about that point so we won't inplent it"

omg... games workshop as a reliable source for lotr....
way to colourful and trashy these figures are (that's my opinion)

concerning fantasy in games... i think it depends... fatw has a somehow quite dark atmosphere but unserious mapdesign (textures/buildings etc)... thats too much fantasy for me... tatw as well as lotrtw did a good thing (in my p.o.v.)
