try applying textures to a matching variant_weighted_mesh of vanilla etw units, it could be work since there are someones not too much different from the jannisseries one. I looked a bit in ui pack info tabs and I reckon someone of east eastern units can work with jannisseries texture.

OK so if I've got this right, basically you can add any Inf/Cav unit from ETW except for those which were included in any of the DLC (i.e. nothing from Warpath and no units from the Elite Units of America/East/West)? Because they are all crypted right?

What about the Special Forces units? I might like to transfer the Ottoman Organ Gun over but might I encounter the same trouble as with the Puckle Gun?

Has anyone else experimented with transfering units from ETW these last few months?

I have transfered many times and many types but not Organ Gun or Puckle Gun. Kungfuserge (Pirate Mod for Empire) has done that.

It already can be done? Any mods that did it already? Or I will transfer some elite units of the east into NTW since they are suitable with the time frame.

The textures are fine but the meshes can't be used. One has to find a mesh that matches the texture which is maybe a bit tricky. Working on it now. Anyone try Nap textures here?

EDIT: Nap meshes don't work, and getting a mesh to match up is tricky. No luck so far unless you like ears on the neck

You cannot add a unit without adding it's meshes...

In my Startpos Mods/Iberia I've added a couple of EUE units.

So far have transferred many units with no problem, thanks for this thread very much. Unfortunately I can't seem to get lances to show up.

I noticed the ETW weapon is just "lance" while the Nap weapon is "nap_lance", but they look the same. I doubt this is the issue. Yes, I am using the Nap weapon and the textures look great, but no lance!

Again, infantry weapons have shown up fine for infantry, but no lance. Thinking about it, I will try a sword real quick to see if that works. . .

EDIT: Indeed sabres work fine. No lances though. Anyone else have this problem?

I have checked your mod. your unit from EUE is also corrupted. I don't know why but DLC units are transferred with corruption of models.

Works fine for me, you had me worried for a bit!

Compare mine...be sure you set it up for whichever faction you want.
    Cool.

If you will add cairo janissaries or wallachian boyars, you will realize it much better.

I was wondering if you had maybe got around to transferring any of these professional scoundrels from ETW to NTW :Swiss Guards, Prussian Bosniaks, 1st Delaware, Morgan's Provisional Rifle Corp, Company of Select Marksmen/Fraser's Rangers, Lee's Legion.
Or if you new of anybody who'd done this already?
I have the DLC for Empire only I'd like to run these guys out for Austria.

Maybe you have a mod file I could use, to make this exploit more within my realm of modding capacity.

Thank you for this very helpful tutorial. Due to it I was able to significantly improve the roster for some factions I'm working on in my mod.

However, it still remains unclear to me the EUE situation. I tried several times importing bosnian_panduks and wallachian_boyars and it didn't work (CTD).

Then I tried importing meshes of a 'similar unit'. Thus I've managed to have them into the game, but the textures were a mess. I was wondering if somebody have found a suitable model to add textures for either of these units (cairo janissaries would also do it). Thanks.

Heya I have been trying to follow your tutorial but because of ignorance to ETW modding in general or poor skill at following instructions I cannot make it work. I have modded NTW unit stats so at the moment I can only do basic things such as unit range, damage, unit size and costs etc.

Controlling textures and models is so far beyond me and I have not made a whole new unit before so maybe I should have started there, but I have given this a go anyway and I get a CTD which is what I expected. I have attached my "mod" pack below so that experianced members can have a look and check it over so you can see exactly what I have done (messed up more like )

Just to be clear, my goal was simply to add the coldstream guard unit from ETW, models and all into NTW.

    Thank you for any help
