Your graphics chip is not made for 3d gaming and your cpu is underpowered.
You might sneak in updating your Intel graphics chip and set your monitor resolution as low as it will go.

That is why you don't have any text. Whatever priorty CA has the different graphics parts set at, text is the last one and the first to go. It did the same thing in Medieval2.

I could play Medieval2 with that chipset, too, and did but not good. Kingdoms was a little trickier.
