Default Dvd player not reading some DVDs, especially SecuRom

I am posting here because secuROM technical support is giving me irrelevant information in regards to an ongoing problem.

    The problem is this:
Once secuROM is installed on my Hard drive, the DVD of ANY and EVERY game (including NWN2) that has secuROM on it, will not read.

The DVD drive repeatedly blinks the read light, and makes a series of whirring noises, and grinding noises. (which is commonly known as the sound of secuROM at work).

NOTE: The DVD drive's all in perfect working condition.
The problem only occurs AFTER secuROM is installed with NWN2 (and every other game that uses secuROM.

I have tested my theory that secuROM is the root of this problem by reformatting my hard drive, installing all necessary drivers to play games with, and SUCCESSFULLY loading all games that have secuROM protection on them.
I then installed NWN2 (or any other secuROM game), and suddenly NONE of the DVD's with secuROM work, yet games without secuROM DO work.
I would then try to play NWN2 (or any other secuROM game), and the DVD could not be read, therefore the game could not start.

How can i fix my problem?

PS= as antivirus i use Karspersky internet security 7.0 and dvd player is Plextor Pz-130a

Have you tried updating your DVD driver and uninstalling the Securom utility?
