    Default Who are you playing?

atm im byzantine, in 1300AD , been through plagues, many wars while on the defensive, but ive held my ground and my economy is in good shape. im hoping to invade asia minor when i feel safe enough on my west. Ottomans are rather busy with the christian states in the east.

I'm playing as Flanders , about to hit the 1390's... I got 60 territories in my possession. I'm the biggest realm on the map , with number two being the Egyptians.
Fincancially I'm doing OK , but can't do any crazy things . I recently started invading muslim Spain and am expecting to get Jihads declared real soon. Those last 15 territories I need to win this campaign will be hard fought over.Glad to have finally reached the maximum tier military buildings.

One Teutonic "19th century" Germanic geographical Empire. 100 000 fl in the pocket, while spending half of it each turn. Year is about 1250. Sollid alliance with Hungary. Poland bites the dust and I'm conquering the Island from spain to Cypros, aswell as doing a crusade down in northern levant. Denmark is a real pain in the ass, and Lituania never gives up on Koenigsberg. The biggest threat might be the Mongols. They have crushed Novgorod, and are heading my way.

The other campaign is as Hungary. I gave the pope all sourrounding towns as political protection, while keeping many fortifications. I gave leave to all armed forces for americas, where they will build an empire on top of dead indians for my Assassin Company.
Thorolf was thus armed. Then Thorolf became so furious that he cast his shield on his back, and, grasping his halberd with both hands, bounded forward dealing cut and thrust on either side. Men sprang away from him both ways, but he slew many. Thus he cleared the way forward to earl Hring's standard, and then nothing could stop him. He slew the man who bore the earl's standard, and cut down the standard-pole. After that he lunged with his halberd at the earl's breast, driving it right through mail and body, so that it came out at the shoulders; and he lifted him up on the halberd over his head, and planted the butt-end in the ground. There on the weapon the earl breathed out his life in sight of all, both friends and foes. [...] 53, Egil's Saga
I must tell you here of some amusing tricks the Comte d'Eu played on us. I had made a sort of house for myself in which my knights and I used to eat, sitting so as to get the light from the door, which, as it happened, faced the Comte d'Eu's quarters. The count, who was a very ingenious fellow, had rigged up a miniature ballistic machine with which he could throw stones into my tent. He would watch us as we were having our meal, adjust his machine to suit the length of our table, and then let fly at us, breaking our pots and glasses.

Whenever i go HRE, i find milan is usually attacking me first. any tips on trades, alliances i should have as HRE? should i pay the papal per turn? (600-700?)

oh and as byzantine, i plant armenians in the north balkans to cut germans & hungarians from my borders, but i find when plauges & all hell breaks loose they attack me, quite hardly. so i may need to wipe them out from the balkans and put someone else in their place.

I haven't played in a while, but I have a saved game as Ireland. I've managed to conquer the entire island save Dublin (the Scots got to it before I could). My original king is still alive, in his 90's and still going strong. His son and heir is in his 60's now, and his grandson and future heir is earning a name for himself as a great warrior (I've gotten him up to two ranks of knight so far and am working on the third rank).

The Scots are currently my ally, but that will change one day as I will eventually have to unite the entire island under my banner.

I'm slowly playing an Ireland game too, Bama. And I'm right where you are, about to conquer Dublin. I'm at war with England though. They came over early and there have been some tough fights.

Playing Kingdom of Jerusalem,6.3 beta,no other modifications, having troubles with the first stacks of rebels.
I seem to have an inferior strategy to those others who play this game, judging by the results i gathered.

Poland, 6.2v lost my first time, making progress. I was able to reduce Danes and HRE by crusades and now 1252 I have a better chance when the eastern factions go nuts. I turned off the AI $$ so the battles are decisive.
