Fixing Turn Lag
Is there any other way to fix the turn lag with SS 6.1? I have SS6.1/TC/y2Day's Eye Candy installed and it takes a little over a minute each turn to come back to me. I have show AI's moves off. Is there more I can do?

Re: Fixing Turn Lag
Get a job, earn money, buy a new rig...
ALTERNATIVE: Beg your parents, buy a new rig...
SOLUTION: Nothing, I bought a new rig and it takes me around 12 seconds a turn... But i remember someone saying if you move to the Left Corner of the Map, in the ocean the turn goes 15-10 seconds faster?

Re: Fixing Turn Lag
Most of the turn lag is unavoidable. This is a function of having 30 factions and all the machinations that go along with that. Do a search on this forum to find some tips to help with turn lag as it has been mentioned MANY times before.

Re: Fixing Turn Lag
I just came back to 6.1 because I couldn't bear the turn lag in 6.2 (about 6 minutes at worst) anymore. Just 1 minute in SS 6.1 sounds great for me.

Re: Fixing Turn Lag
Yeah - many factions and the AI still seems to like having many one or two-unit armies (splinter armies, I call them) that have no real purpose except to move a bit and take up processing time between turns. It's annoying, but it's something we have to deal with I guess.

Re: Fixing Turn Lag
Six minutes? That seems bizarre. I have an older rig for gaming (2.1 gHz dual core AMD, 2 gB ram, 512 mb ATI Raedon) and the turn lag is only one-one and a half minutes even many turns into a campaign. Do you have these same issues with other mods?

Re: Fixing Turn Lag
I'll make my computer clueless suggestion of running scan disk & defrag then refer you to caralampio's thread at the bottom of the screen.
Hope it helps...
