    Default Losing money as Mongols???

Hey guys, I understand that having huge armies like the mongols with only one starting region, you are gonna lose some money. But - 12000 every turn???

On the money scroll, you know where its shows how much you get from trading, taxes etc., it shows me on diplomatic expenditures that I lose 12000 florins every turn! Is this a bug or what?? I guess I have no choice but to start cheating every turn against that bug..

I had a bug like that, when playing as Norway. I looked at the cheat console and the last command put in was "add_money -1500" repeatedly, which showed up as diplomatic expenditure. I just quit the game (I was bored of it anyway ). It may be to represent your Eastern empire, I don't know. You can just add_money 12000 each turn to balance it I suppose.

Looking at Sir Walters post i think you should check your console for anything giving -12000, also try restarting the campaign (if you haven't played for very long)

This reminds me of the pirate bug that gets invoked if you have more then 75.000 gold (or dukates, dublons, whatever).
If you had a "random event" a few turns back about pirates robbing your trade routes or something similar then its a small error in the campaign script thats causing this issue.

Without information on your version there isn't much to add to ON3s and Sir Walters advice.
I know that a large nobility can also cause a large cost - its all depending on what version & submod you are using.

I am playing SS 6.0 or 6.1, I dont remember which. And using byg´s real recruitment ( without the army supply system thingy ). I think diplomatic expenditures come only if you have used money to gain something in negotiations, like a settlement for ´x´ amount of gold and stuff. I remember using 12000 gold in my sicily game, 12000 for genoa providing military assistance against france. I believe that expenditure somehow jumped to my mongol game, taking me 12000 gold every turn. And its pissing me off!

On turn 7 now, I wouldnt like to start a new game, for I have won so many settlements and armies already. Maybe this bug will disappear in time, or else Ill have to add 12000 money every freaking turn. Goddammit.

On the faction balance sheet, "Diplomacy and Tribute" is only ever when giving money to another faction, whether as tribute or in one go. I'm not sure whether bribes come under "Corruption and Other" though.

From the looks of it, its complicated to resolve this problem. I have already messed up TA:TW playing with the script files...

And I think the guide said that the fix for late era campaign is not save game compatible

Well, at least got that figured out. If I ever see the pirate-text again, ill surely hire the privateers to hunt those pirates down, so there will be no - bugs again

Better yet stay below 75k in your treasury so that the pirate event doesnt fire at all.

Do they get regular money infusions? If not he could simply lower the starting money with cheats and then add it back later on. I admit I never played Mongols as I've always prefered to help out the underdogs & I'm a fan of last stands. One of the reasions why I prefer to play hotseat & regularly overtake factions on the brink of destruction for a few turns (unless I'm the one dooming them).

Okay, it seems the pirate bug does not appear anymore. Thanks for the replies
