Default 137 Years of Pop Science free online

If you don't find this cool you don't belong on the Anthenaeum board.

I am especially intrigued by the climate change articles.

The glaciers are retreating, in 1932.

    or this one from 1952

    http://www.popsci.com/archive-viewer...+in+the+arctic

Talking about rapidly melting sea ice, rapidly retreating glaciers, and why things were getting so warm.

Remove the dates and I doubt anyone would not know it was written 60ish years ago.

I was starting to get worried when the random article generator on wikipedia was repeating articles.

    Thanks!

Its coming from a guy with degrees in relevant fields who was involved in this before you got your milk teeth

Only someone who just really has no grasp of the situation would somehow take a 1952 paper of 'OMG we are warming so much, the ice is melting blah blah!' and not see the implication to todays science.

Please do explain how that fact, that scientists have been working on a theory for more rather than fewer decades makes it a weaker theory.

And please explain how any of this justifies your claims that the theory of Global warming only came out in the 80’s and that in the 70’s all the stupid scientists believed a new ice age was coming.

I find the adds more interesting than some of the articles. Its not only a glimpse into the past, but it shows how much more people were interested in 'hobbyist' type activities then. Thats one sad thing about computers, it killed a lot of that.
